The boy and Elizabeth walked together in silence, the long white hallway that seemed to expand forever. The silence was awkward for Elizabeth, who wanted to say something, but knew that the boy couldn't say anything, so she really didn't know what to say. But for the boy, he didn't really care, he didn't find the silence awkward, because he didn't know what awkward is, but in reality, he kinda enjoyed this.
But pushing through the silence, they walked, and walked. The boy started to knock on the walls in intervals of a couple of seconds. Elizabeth thought for a second on why he was doing this before asking him.
"Are you checking for hollow walls?" Elizabeth asked which the boy nodded in response.
Knock, knock, knock, the sound of their footsteps, the sound of the chains on the ankles of the boy dragging along the floor.
"Why do you have chains on your ankles?" Elizabeth asked, because from what she knew, there was never anyone that got chained up.
The boy shrugged, he didn't exactly know either.
...
After a while of walking, Elizabeth sighed, they were nearly walking for an hour and haven't found anything, not only that, they have been only walking forward, they never took any turns or anything, just forward.
This hallway seemed to never end.
"Hey, you know, i've been thinking for a bit, and I still dont know what I should call you" she looked to her left, where the boy should have been, but he wasn't there.
Panic spread throughout Elizabeth, she quickly looked around to find him, lucky for her, he was only a bit behind her, looking at the wall. Elizabeth walked back to the boy with a sigh of relief.
"Dont disappear on me like that again, you almost scared me to death" she went near the boy, looking at the same wall he was looking at.
"Did you find something? is the wall hollow?" Elizabeth asked, and the boy nodded, confirming her question.
"Alright now, how do we get rid of the wa-" before she could finish her sentence, the boy punched the wall without much struggle, knocking the debris over.
But instead of a loud thud, there was no sound, instead of a small room, it was a bottomless pit, that expanded meter's wide, with a hole going both ways that seemed to never end. If you looked up, you could see the sky, if you looked down, it was as if this hole was to the very core of the earth.
To Elizabeth, this was amazing, almost spectacular, she wondered what happened here, who could've caused something like this. But to the boy, this was strange, because this looks like exactly the same hole he before meeting these guys. But it would not make sense for the hole to be here, because right now, it should be on the other side of this facility.
The boy thought that he may be overthinking this, maybe this facility is just a spiral, or maybe theres just 2 holes... or maybe-
But the boy is brought back from his theory's as Elizabeth called out to him.
"Hey, we should continue now, we still need to find food for everyone" The boy only nodded, agreeing with her decision.
Both continued to walk forwards, not knowing when something exactly could happen
