☆—————☆—————☆—————☆—————☆

I woke up to the sound of rain tapping on my window - everything from last night was a blur in my head. The last thing I could recall from last night was the overwhelming feelings of embarrassment and Kyle taunting me the whole time.. why wouldn't he just make it easy for me to figure him out? I dug my head into my pillow, groaning as I leaned up and stretched my arms upwards - my eyes landing on the window. It looks like we would all have to train inside today.. not like it's a problem for most of the others anyway. I eventually got up and got into my dark red and gold uniform, accompanied by my checkered cloak.
I silently walked along the corridor, the rain outside made the morning seem rather peaceful. I have a good feeling about today. "Xavier!!" I heard a familiar voice call from behind me, I turned and expected it to be Kyle.. but then again, he never calls me by my name. "Oh, it's just you." I said to the red-haired boy. Maybe talking to him would distract me from my thoughts for once. "Are you heading to the training rooms too? I know which one everybody else is in!!" Aiger suggested with a wide smile. I hesitated.. I had originally planned to train alone today, but it wouldn't hurt to make a change. He is my rival after all. "Why not? I-" He cut me off by taking my hand and dragging me to the training room he was talking about. Our quick footsteps rumbled against the rocking floors. I had always admired his energy and determination, not to mention how strong he is during battle compared to my strength. He is worthy to be my equal, as a rival at most.

Aiger swung the door open and we were greeted with shouting bladers and the calling of a few matches. I scanned the room and rubbed my own hand, observing everybody as I tried to follow Aiger's excited pacing around the large room. Almost everybody was here, well apart from the one blader that hasn't been introduced yet.. and Kyle. It would be no surprise if he just went to train alone, or perhaps he wasn't training at all.
Aiger eventually called me over to do a team battle with Gumita being the referee. I was on the same team as Aiger, since he insisted, Team Blue, and Laban and Ranjiro on the other team - Team red.

'3..'
'2..'
'1..'
'let it.. RIP!!' We all shouted in unison. As the battle went on, me and Aiger were winning thus far. Asides from that, my mind lingered towards if Kyle was here right now. What would he do during battle? I shook those silly thoughts away. Why would I care? I should be focusing on Aiger's strategies for future battles.. not his. Before I knew it, I blinked and the battle was over. "Aiger and Xavier with a ring out finish. Blue team are the winners." Gumita announced dully as I stared into the stadium. Aiger was celebrating as Laban complained to him about their loss. Ranjiro, however, started to walk up to me without a hint that he was coming. I knelt down and reached for my bey that had collapsed on the stadium, slowly standing back up and stared at my Xcalius for a while. Why am I so fixated on my feelings for one other person? I squeezed my bey tightly, the sharp ridges piercing my skin in frustration. "You okay man? You seem way more distracted than usual." Ranjiro called out through the cloud in my mind. As I looked up over to him, I heaved a half-smile. "I'm alright.. I just have a few things on my mind recently." I used the same truthful excuse from last night. Except, the things on my mind weren't about the battles.
'The frustration will pass.' I thought to myself. It means nothing. I'm just overwhelmed with a lot right now, I suppose.
"Are you sure?" Ranjiro waved a hand in front of my face. I'm getting feelings of Deja Vu, from last night. "You look pale, dude."
I looked back to him rather than my bey, I hadn't realised that my gaze shifted back to it. "Of course, I feel fine."
"If you say so, but if you don't feel free to tell!" He shrugged with a light grin and walked away over to Aiger and Laban. They seemed to be talking about their next battles. Ranjiro was always considerate about his friends and is genuinely caring, he seems to take care of Aiger well despite them bickering half of the time. "Hey, Xavier!! Do you wanna to do a rematch?" Laban called out to me as I lost my train of thought again. I nodded and saw their faces brighten up as we started to get into my positions.
I hadn't really considered anybody on this cruise to be recalled as my friends, but with Aiger.. I think I could call it so.
