Fahlada reported for duty the next day. Her uniform crisp, her posture commanding, and her eyes sharp. The familiar sights and sounds of the camp welcomed her back after weeks of recovery. And as she walked towards the meeting room, she spotted Tan, Bow, and Rossami waiting for her. Their faces lit up when they saw her, but their usual banter was noticeably restrained.

"Captain Thananusak," Tan said with a respectful nod, his tone formal, as was required within the army's ranks.

Good to have you back, Captain," Bow added, offering a nod of approval, her earlier antics replaced by professionalism.

Rossami smiled but kept her comments to herself, knowing that even though they were friends, Fahlada had a reputation to uphold within the ranks.

Fahalda nodded, acknowledging their greetings. "Good to be back. Let's get to work."

The morning inspection proceeded smoothly, with Fahlada making sure everything was in order. Her presence was commanding, and it was clear she hadn't lost her edge despite her time away. As the inspection drew to a close, General Phongpipat joined them. His presence commanded respect, and all eyes turned towards him. He walked over to Fahlada and gave her a nod of approval. "Captain, it's good to see you back on your feet. I'm glad you're ready for duty."

"Thank you, General," Fahlada responded, her voice steady. "I'm ready to serve."

After the inspection, Fahlada requested a private conversation with the General. Once they were alone, she spoke up, her voice low and serious. "Sir, I have something important to discuss. It concerns the safety of Earn."

General Phongpipat's expression shifted, his eyes narrowing as he listened intently. "Go on."

"My father informed me of a potential threat. According to my mother's intel, there's a plot to kidnap Earn. The details are vague, but the threat is real."

"Are you certain of this information?" General Phongpipat seriously asked.

"Yes, General," Fahlada replied. "The source is reliable, but we don't know when the attack is planned. I wanted to bring it to your attention immediately."

General Phongpipat leaned back in his chair, his fingers steepled in thought. "This is troubling news, Captain. If there's a threat against Earn, we need to make immediate action."

Fahlada nodded, her expression grim. "I agree, sir. I want to ensure that Earn is safe, especially given what happened to her twice."

The general regarded her thoughtfully before speaking. "I've already assigned ten private bodyguards to protect Earn during your absence, but I want you to be her personal bodyguard as well. And I assume that is okay with you."

Fahlada nodded, "Yes, sir. I'll get whatever help I can get to keep her safe."

"I trust you more than anyone else to keep her safe, Fahlada. But please remember to take care of yourself this time." General Phongpipat added.

Fahlada's heart swelled with a mix of gratitude and responsibility. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect Earn, General."

"I know you will," the general said, his voice softer now. "And frankly, I think Earn would feel safer with you by her side. Take care of her, Captain."

With a final salute, Fahlada left the office, her mind already working on the best ways to keep Earn safe. The weight of her duty felt heavier than ever, but she was determined to carry it. Earn's safety was important, and she would not fail her.

As Fahlada stepped out of the general's office, she found Bow and Tan waiting for her in the hallway, their expressions curious and a bit suspicious. They had known Fahlada long enough to sense when something serious was going on.
