After that glorious night Diablo moved out. Soon after so did my brother. I found a smaller apartment and got settled in. Losing the job at the bakery was hard. Because it meant that I needed to find a new job.
I found a job at an office. As an assistant. And this job didn't mean I was an assistant to a hot rich dude. No. I was an assistant to everyone. You need a copy? Ask me! You want coffee? Ask me!
It was hard as it was but the pay covered my bills. Frank was nowhere to be seen either. So life was going well I would say.
One day I was told to say during the lunch break and make a lot of copies for a meeting that was supposed to take place after the lunch break. On the whole office floor I was alone. Until I noticed a guy. A strange looking guy walking towards me. He kept on eyeing every corner of the place.
"Hello there" He politely said as he came up to me.
"Hi. Everyone is on the lunch break so I would advise you to come later" I said in my nicest tone ever. Wishing this guy was not a killer.
"Oh um. Well you see I'm here for the meeting. That was supposed to take place after lunch? Could I maybe settle in the conference room earlier?"
"And who are you?..." At this point I was confused.
"New partner. Jason. My father owns the law firm? 'JJ Law' you know? No? Well I took over his business and decided to widen my dad's horizons by getting new partners to work with"
"Oh alright. Then yeah sure you can"
I finish up the copies and soon after the meeting starts. I was at my desk as the meeting ended and my boss came up to my desk with Jason.
"And this is our assistant. He helps everyone around. So if you need anything don't be afraid to ask! And that is all of our team. So Jason, I will see you in a few days" my boss and jason shook hands and the boss went to his office closing the door.
Jason looked at me and smiled. Not saying a word he just left. A few days later he came back for another meeting. After the meeting before leaving he stopped at my desk.
"Hello pretty stranger whose name I still don't know but would you like to go out with me in two weeks?"
"In two weeks? Usually the date is like in a few days but not weeks" I giggled.
"I know I know. But that is when I'm most free. So what do you say? You in?"
"Yeah. Camila is in"
"Camila.... beautiful name by the way!"
We spent every hour, every minute and every second that we could be together in the office. Drinking coffee, exchanging little glances at each other. We became so close in those two weeks.
Just in time for the date...
