Viviene leaned back against the headboard of her bed; her laptop balanced on her knees. It was late, the house was finally quiet after a long day of work and spending some quality time with her three kids. This was her time—time to escape the routine of her daily life, to connect with someone who made her feel like more than just a nurse and a mom.

She opened her chat window, her heart skipping a beat when she saw the familiar notification. Regina was online.

Regina: "Evening, Viviene! How was your day? I've been looking forward to our chat all day."

Viviene couldn't help but smile as she read Regina's message. There was something comforting about their nightly conversations, a routine that had become her lifeline in recent months. Regina was always there, a steady presence in the whirlwind of Viviene's life.

Viviene: "Hi, Regina! My day was... well, typical. The hospital was busy, the kids were full of energy, and I'm utterly exhausted. I wish I have half of the energy my kids have. And I've been looking forward to talking to you, too. How was your day?"

Regina responded almost instantly, and Viviene could picture her sitting at her own computer, perhaps with a glass of wine in hand, ready to unwind after her own busy day.

Regina: "My day was busy as well, but productive. We're making some progress on a new formula in the lab, which is always exciting. But, if I'm being honest, the best part of my day is right now. I really enjoy our chats, Viviene. It's the perfect way to end my day."

Viviene's smile widened, a warmth spreading through her chest. Regina had a way of making her feel special, like she was the most important person in the world. It was a feeling Viviene hadn't experienced in a long time, not since her marriage had crumbled and her ex-husband had left her to raise their kids on her own.

Viviene: "You always know how to make me smile, Regina. I enjoy our chats too. It's nice to have something to look forward to at the end of a long day."

There was a brief pause before Regina's next message appeared, and Viviene felt a small flutter of anticipation.

Regina: "Viviene, I've been thinking... We've been talking for a while now, and I feel like we've really connected. How would you feel about meeting in person?"

Viviene's heart skipped a beat, her fingers hovering over the keyboard as she reread Regina's message. Meeting in person? She had thought about it, of course. She had imagined what it would be like to finally see Regina face to face, to hear her voice in person instead of through a speaker of her laptop. But now that the possibility was real, Viviene felt a wave of anxiety mixed with excitement.

What if the chemistry they had online didn't translate to real life? What if things were awkward, or worse—what if Regina didn't like what she saw? Viviene hadn't been on a date in years, and the thought of putting herself out there again was both thrilling and terrifying.

Viviene: "Wow, I wasn't expecting that! I mean, I've thought about it too, but... I'm not going to lie, Regina, the idea makes me a little nervous. It's been a long time since I've been on a date, and I'm not sure if I'm ready."

Regina's response was quick and reassuring, as if she had anticipated Viviene's hesitation.

Regina: "I completely understand, Viviene. Meeting in person is a big step, and I don't want you to feel pressured at all. I just feel like there's something really special between us, and I'd love to see if that translates to the real world. But if you're not ready, we can wait. I'm happy to continue as we are until you feel comfortable."
