"Unforgivable!"

The Ultrahand stopped glowing as soon as Link put the last board in place.
  'There, that should do it.', he thought to himself before turning back to face Addison, who was still tightly holding on to the sign.
  "Try letting go".
"What? Are you going to support him?"
He seemed unsure, but link reassured him with a friendly nod.
  "All right, I'll let go.."
And with that, Addison loosened his grip on the sign in trust of link. However, much to both his and Link's surprise, it toppled. The president has fallen.
  "Woah! Unforgivable!".
..link fell into silence. 'I thought for sure that'd do the trick....'.
  "Unforgivable!" Addison repeated, clearly quite upset as he picks the sign back up, holding it tightly once more.
Snapping out of his thoughts, link offers to try again. "I'm sorry Addison, I'll get it this time for sure!"
  "No."
  Link had not expected such a plain yet outright reply. "what?"
"I said no. You dropped the President, and that is not okay! Just go. I can handle this myself.". The boy huffed and shook his head, putting his attention back on keeping the sign upright.
Though even with this clear behavior that Addison did not want any help, Link was too stubborn, and attempted it again.
And he failed, again. The president has fallen for a second time.
  "Unforgivable! Just Unforgivable!" Addison was getting angry.
  "Addison, I-" Link tried to explain himself, but was cut off.
  "No. You've broken my trust, I will not let you disrespect my president any longer. Just go away.".
It hurt Link to hear such words, he wanted to help, but decided to back off anyway. The supposed hero hung his head as he wanders back over to his horse who had been waiting for him.
  ".... C'mon, Chaos, let's go".
Link takes one has look at Addison before mounting Chaos and riding off.

Link was mentally beating himself up hard for what had happened. Had he really lost Addison's trust? He let out a long breath and decided to try and distract himself by doing some shrines.

Having spent the rest of the day dealing with various puzzles and shrine challenges, Link yawned as he checked into the nearest stable for the night. 'I think I might pay Addison another visit tomorrow. I hope he's not too mad at me..'. He thinks, before heading off to sleep.

The next morning, the young soldier got up bright and early. He was a little weary about seeing Addison again, but he had been determined to help in any way he could, no matter the cost.
Taking hold of Chaos' reins, he rides back to Addison.

He got to work right away, not saying a word to Addison, who in turn just watched, glaring at him. Although he really didn't want to see link, Addison couldn't deny the fact he needed help, deciding to give the swordsman another chance.
As link finished up his new contraption, he nervously approaches Addison.
  "Try letting go".
After moment's hesitation, he let's go.
........
"Wha-- the president, he's standing!?".
The boy glanced at link with a look of surprise. Link only nodded, a slight satisfied smile on his face.
  "You should probably tie it down before it loses balance.."
  "Right, of course!"
With that, Addison got down and started securing the sign while it was up.
When he was done, he happily turned to Link. "Thank you! You actually helped keep the president up!" He paused. "..uh, sorry for getting mad the other day, I tend to lose my temper when it comes to president Hudson..".
Link placed a sympathetic hand to the boy's shoulder before speaking.
  "Hey, it's no problem. I'm just happy to help. It's my fault for letting it- *him* fall.".
Addison just smiled, and maybe even blushed a little, but link didn't notice.
"Please, take this as a reward, you worked hard!". He dug into his pocket and pulled out a few red Rupees and offered them to link.
The hero merely just shook his head.
  "Keep them."
  "But--"
  "Please, I don't need them.". He paused. "the only reward I want is for you to be happy.".
.. "I--" Addison was at a loss for words, and was definately blushing at this point. "...Thank you, Link. It means a lot that you care.. I should get going, I have more signs to put up.. I'll see you you around.".
  "Yeah, see you around, Addison.".
With that all said and done, they part ways, leaving the sign standing up on its own.
