Will had Just heard the news about Bianca. As much as he hated Nico, no-one deserved to go through that. Losing a sibling. He excused himself from the Apollo cabin to go visit Nico. Kayla smiled, did a little finger wave and winked. Stupid Kayla.

 He walked through the door to find Nico sprawled on his bed, sobs shaking his body. Shit. Should he leave? He looked longingly toward the door but shook his head. He walked over and lightly touched Nico's shoulder.

"Hey, are you ok?"Nico jolted and shrugged him off.

"What the fuck! How dare you sneak up on me like that! What are you doing here?"

"Sorry." Will raised his hands in defeat. "I just wanted to check if you were ok."

"Obviously I'm not. Unless the new definition of ok is having your only family die, not hear the news for days and then, minutes after you find out, get claimed as a son of Hades, and now treated as if I don't belong anywhere. If that sounds 'ok' to you, then yeah, I guess I'm ok."

Shit. Another son of the big three, and Hades this time. Involuntarily, he took a step backwards.

"Whoa. Son of Hades?"

He didn't miss the brief flash of hurt and anger that washed over Nico's face after Will took that step backwards.

"Yeah. Deaf much? Now, I think you should leave. Don't want to infect you with the death disease everyone seems to think I have."

Nico stared scornfully at the spot will was standing in before. Will couldn't believe he had let himself take that tiny step. Nico had enough shit going on, and now he thought everyone hated him. Trust Will to make someone who already disliked him hate him even more. He knew he should have stayed and comforted Nico, but he left like the coward he was, scared of his own emotions.

When he got back to the cabin Kayla began harassing him about Nico until he had enough.

"Shut up, Kayla. He's not my type, I'm not his, he hates me, he's straight and he's just gone through shit. Leave us alone."

Undeterred, Kayla continued.

"What makes you think he's straight. And enemies to lovers? My favourite thing to read about. I now get to watch it in real life, with my brother as the main character no less! I just wish i had popcorn."
Will rolled his eyes, but had to suppress a small smile.

He went to bed, but before he fell into the dreamless sleeps he always had, he thought of what Kayla said about Nico liking guys. She was deluded. Nico obviously didn't like guys. At this point, Will was convinced nico liked no-one and nothing. Kayla was wrong. Right?
