Sensing the fatigue in Dakota, Draiden realized it was time to head inside. He rose from his seat, his gaze sweeping over the crowd gathered on the patio, eager to welcome her home. Their familiar faces offered a mix of concern and relief, but he could also see the underlying tension as they anticipated the challenges ahead.

Taking a deep breath, he felt the weight of the moment settle heavily on his shoulders. As Alpha, he understood the immense responsibility resting upon him-not just to lead, but to protect his pack in these uncertain times, especially with the impending visit from the vampires looming over them like a dark cloud.

He stepped forward, the cool evening breeze brushing against his skin, and turned to face the gathering. Their eyes were fixed on him, filled with anticipation. He steadied his voice, drawing on his inner strength as he prepared to command their attention and reassure them.

"I want to thank each and every one of you for welcoming my mate, your Luna, with open arms tonight. It has been a very long week, and we are both starting to feel jet lagged." He glanced at Dakota, who smiled softly at him, her eyes reflecting both pride and weariness. "Before we retire for the night, please enjoy the rest of your evening and be sure to get enough rest. As you all are aware, we will be having visitors tomorrow afternoon."

A murmur of understanding rippled through the crowd. Draiden continued, his tone serious, "Now, I don't expect the vampires to attack or cause any trouble, but we all need to be on guard just in case. That being said, I want all the children to remain in school. Women, please stay close to your children. Men, I want all borders covered at all times. No one is to leave their post until I give word. Understood?"

The pack members stood tall, bowing their heads in respect. "Understood, Alpha," they replied in unison, their voices filled with loyalty and commitment.

With every word, he sought not just to lead but to inspire, igniting a sense of solidarity among them as they prepared for the trials ahead.

Draiden nodded, satisfied with their response. "Very good! Everyone is dismissed! Please enjoy the rest of your night!" He watched as the pack members began to disperse, exchanging friendly farewells and laughter, their spirits lifting despite the seriousness of his message.

Once the patio began to clear, Draiden turned back to Dakota, who was still seated, her expression a mix of admiration and concern. He joined her, sitting down and taking her hands in his.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice now softer, tinged with worry. "I know that was a lot to take in."

Dakota nodded, squeezing his hands. "I'm fine, really. I admire how you handle everything. You're a natural leader, Draiden."

He smiled, feeling a warm rush at her words. "Thank you, love. It's not always easy, but I do it for you and for our pack." He paused, glancing back at the party that was slowly winding down. "I just want to keep you safe."

She leaned her head against his shoulder, taking a moment to absorb the warmth of his presence. The weight of the evening began to lift as they embraced, and she felt a sense of belonging that she hadn't anticipated.

After a moment, she pulled back slightly to look up at him. "You really care about everyone here, don't you? It's inspiring."

Draiden nodded, his expression sincere. "They're not just my pack; they're my family. Each one of them has a role to play, and I want them to feel secure, especially with everything that's been happening lately. Come, let me show you our personal Apartment"
