The New Boy

"Victoria!" I yelled. "Come here baby!". She came running in the room and I was knelt down on my knee. I saw her starting to tear up then I said "Victoria Elizabeth Miller, I love you with all of
my heart and I know you're only 16 and I'm 17 but would you please marry me some day?". She nodded and cried as I slipped the ring on her finger.

"I love you so much Danny!" She said happily. I picked her up and spun her around then kissed her gently. "Did you hear about the new guy in town?" She asked as she wiped her tears.

"New guy? In my town?" I chuckled and shook my head. "No, I haven't heard of him. Why? Is he trying to steal you away from me?" I asked then kissed her softly.

She laughed. "No, of course not. Everyone in town knows about him. He's the one who moved in across the road." She said as she pointed out the window. "I thought we could go introduce ourselves.".

"Sure baby." I said as I slipped my jacket on. Victoria slipped her jacket on too. "Mom, we'll be right back!" I yelled then walked out the door.

We walked across the road and knocked on the front door of a beautiful brick house. "It's freezing out here!" I exclaimed then the door swung open. A boy with dark brown hair and blue eyes opened the door in his jeans with his white hat on backwards.

"Hi! Sorry for interrupting you but we came by to introduce ourselves. My name is Victoria and this is my boyfriend Danny. He lives across the street.". Victoria said as she smiled. I was staring hard at the boy and couldn't figure out why but he caught my interest. Victoria nudged me with her elbow and I shook my head a little.

"Sorry. Hi, I'm Danny and you are?" I asked the boy as I blinked continuously so I wouldn't stare.

"I'm Cameron. Nice to meet you. So you live across the road?" He said as he looked at me. He smirked a little when he spoke.

"Yes, I do. Just me and my mom. You have a really nice house." I said.

"Thank you." He replied. "So do you. So would you like to come in, Danny?" He said. Why was he only asking me? He talked to me as if Victoria didn't exist.

"I really can't. I have to get back to the house, my mom cooked dinner. Maybe you could come over one night and eat?" I asked. Wait, what just happened? Did I just ask a complete stranger for dinner? What's going on with me tonight?

"Maybe." He said. "Well, Danny, have a good night." He smirked and it looked like he winked. Did he wink at me?

"Danny?" I heard Victoria say.

"Yes?" I replied, starting to walk back to my house.

"Are you okay? You were staring pretty hard at Cameron.".

"Yes, Victoria, I'm fine." I replied. "Oh look, theres your mom." A car pulled into the drive way and I kissed her cheek. "Bye baby."

"Bye Danny." She smiled and got into her car then they drove away.

I waved to them and I saw Cameron looking out his window at me. I waved at him and he waved back. Wow, thats weird.
