The story starts in a messy living room, where toys are scattered everywhere. A woman is preparing food in the kitchen and calling out, "Anvi, are you awake? Hurry up, you'll be late for school!" But instead of Anvi, her younger son Yug wakes up and steps on the toys, saying, "Mama, carry me." At the same time, another voice is heard: "Janvi, is my breakfast and tiffin ready? Hurry, I'll be late!" This is her husband Raj calling from the other room. There's chaos in the house, with Yug crying and Raj asking for his tiffin while putting on his shoes. Meanwhile, Anvi is taking a bath and getting ready for school, also calling out, "Janvi, give me my omelet and milk!"
In the middle of this chaos, Janvi is multitasking, preparing an omelet and roti for the tiffin while boiling tea for Raj. In her rush, she burns her hand, drops the spatula, removes her apron, and comes out of the kitchen crying and on dinning chair. Seeing her in tears, Yug, Anvi, and Raj are shocked. Yug, scared, runs to Janvi and wipes her tears, while Raj asks Anvi to get the burn ointment from the bedroom. He holds Janvi's hand and kisses her burn, but Janvi pulls her hand away, still upset.
Raj tries to cheer her up, asking the kids to join him in doing sit-ups while holding their ears, saying sorry to her. They all apologize, and Yug tells Janvi, "I'm grown up now, I can do my work by myself. I won't trouble you anymore, sorry, Mama." But then, due to the excitement, Yug pees his pants. Embarrassed, he runs to the washroom, which makes Janvi laugh, and soon, everyone joins in laughing.
Raj says, "You pack my tiffin, and I'll clean Yug and his mess." But Janvi, concerned about Raj's office attire, tells him, "I've already packed both of your tiffins. Just take yours and go, I'll clean up and bathe Yug." She cleans the floor, bathes Yug, and comes out while Raj and Anvi finish their breakfast, place their used plates in the kitchen sink, and prepare to leave for their respective jobs.
This is a sweet little family: a husband, wife, and two young kids. The daughter, Anvi, is five years old, and their son, Yug, is three. Both children are quite naughty. Raj works as a Senior Manager in a shipping company named Jindal Shipping Private Limited. His wife, Janvi, used to be an engineer in a private company but had to quit after marriage due to Yug's frequent health issues, as he was a premature baby prone to colds and fevers. After a three-year gap, she couldn't rejoin the workforce. The family lives in Mumbai, happily busy with their everyday lives.
A few days later, a new neighbor, a bachelor named Vikram, moves in. He is a tall, handsome man with a very attractive personality but is quite reserved and doesn't interact much with anyone in the society. One Monday morning, as usual, Janvi prepared lunch boxes and breakfast for her husband and daughter, while Yug played in the living room. After seeing off Raj and Anvi as they entered the lift, Janvi suddenly realized that the notorious Yug had closed the door and locked himself inside.
Panicking, Yug started crying, and Janvi, equally alarmed, called the society's watchman and others for help. They suggested she ask her neighbor Vikram for assistance, as someone could climb from his balcony to hers and unlock the door. Although Vikram had a reputation for being strict and unfriendly, Janvi, under pressure, hesitantly approached him. She rang his doorbell, and when he answered, she nervously explained her situation. Vikram initially responded rudely, "So what?" but Janvi persisted and pleaded for his help.
Reluctantly, Vikram agreed, saying, "Fine, no need for anyone to come into my house. I'll go to your balcony and open the door myself." Using a ladder between the two balconies, Vikram carefully climbed over. As he did so, a crowd below started filming him. Unaware, Vikram managed to reach Janvi's balcony and unlocked the door. Upon realizing that people were photographing and filming him, he quickly retreated inside.
Janvi rushed in, hugged Yug tightly, and tearfully scolded him, "Don't do this again! Everyone was so worried." Yug apologized, "Sorry, Mama. I won't do it again." Grateful, Janvi offered Vikram tea, but he brusquely declined, "No need for thanks," and left her house.
After the commotion, Janvi's friends Meera and Jaya, along with another neighbor, Arjun, stayed back for tea. Arjun, a novelist and divorcee with a three-year-old daughter, had a crush on Janvi. Though Janvi often helped him with his daughter, she kept a respectful distance from him. Now, seeing her become slightly more friendly with Vikram, Arjun felt a pang of jealousy. As they chatted, Meera suggested, "You and Raj should invite Vikram for dinner to thank him." Janvi agreed, planning to talk to Raj about it once he returned from work.
Meanwhile, at Raj's office, he was being scolded by his boss, Rakesh Mehra, for failing to submit his weekly inspection report from the dockyard. Raj explained that he was tied up with office work and promised to submit the report by the end of the week. His boss grudgingly agreed, and Raj left, feeling stressed.
When Raj came home, still tense, Janvi told him about Yug locking himself inside the house that morning. Irritated, Raj snapped at her, "You're at home all day and can't even look after the kids properly?" Janvi, hurt by his words, retorted, "I work hard all day, from preparing meals to taking care of the kids and house. I sacrificed my career for this family, and now you're blaming me for something I didn't even do!" Upset, she went to sleep with the kids in their room.
Raj, feeling guilty for his outburst, wanted to apologize, but Janvi had already fallen asleep. He quietly joined her and the kids, reflecting on his behavior.
