Shhh, don't get excited. People are still after me, trying to kill me. This is my new number—save it, and only you should know about it. I need information about Army General MS Thapa's death," says Vikram.
"But I heard he had a heart attack," Jack replies.
"No, it was murder," Vikram states firmly.
Jack, confused, asks, "But how?"
"I have no clue, that's why I called you. In your bar, everything from legal to illegal happens. People tend to open their mouths after a few drinks. I want information on this," says Vikram.
"Sure, Tiger sir. I'll definitely do this for you," Jack assures.
"Okay then, I'll hang up now," Vikram says.
"Wait a minute, sir," Jack interrupts.
"Yes?" Vikram responds.
"I'm really happy that you're alive," Jack says with relief.
Vikram adds, "One more thing—no one should know that I'm alive, not even Jiya or Anand."
"Understood, sir," Jack replies.
The next morning, Vikram knocks on Janvi's door to check if the kids are ready for school. Janvi opens the door.
"Oh, hi. You're here so early," Janvi says, surprised.
"I just came to drop the kids at school," Vikram replies.
"It's okay, I'm dropping them off. I took the day off from work," Janvi explains.
"Is everything okay?" Vikram asks.
"Yeah, everything's fine," Janvi says with a slight surprise in her tone.
"No, I mean, you took the day off. I thought maybe you were feeling sick," Vikram says.
"No, not at all. I took the day off because I have to meet the insurance person about Raj's accident," Janvi explains.
"Okay, then. Fine. Good day," Vikram says, feeling a bit sad as he turns to leave.
The kids come out, see Vikram, and insist that Janvi let him join them to drop them off at school. Unable to say no, Janvi agrees.
They drop the kids at school, and Vikram asks, "Can we grab a coffee? You've offered to me a few times because of the situation i unable, but maybe today?"
Janvi smiles and says, "Yes, sure."
They go to a café, and Vikram asks her what she'd like to have. "Cappuccino," she replies.
He gets the coffee, and they sit down to talk. Janvi says, "The kids are really fond of you. At first, I thought you were a bit snobbish because you didn't talk to anyone in the society, and people used to say a lot about you."
"Good or bad?" Vikram asks with a smirk.
Janvi smiles and continues, "I don't really know what people think, but I respect you. The way you helped me, risking your life—I'm truly grateful. That day, Raj and I were coming to invite you for dinner, but then Raj had his accident, and everything fell apart." Her eyes fill with tears, and Vikram gently tries to calm her down.
She regains her composure and says, "I'm sorry."
Vikram shakes his head, "It's okay. I'm really sorry for your loss."
Continuing the conversation, Vikram asks, "Do you know what happened that night? How Raj had the accident?"
"I really don't know," Janvi replies.
"Did you ask his colleagues?" Vikram probes.
"Yes, I asked. They said Raj went to check on a consignment at the port, which was coming from Russia, but no one knows why he went to that tower and fell from there," Janvi explains.
"You didn't ask them why he went to that tower? Did he have any business there?" Vikram questions.
"I did ask. They said Raj committed suicide because of work pressure, but I know my husband. He would never do that. He loved me and the kids too much. He even called me before leaving the office that day, saying he was coming home early so we could invite you for dinner," You tell me—if he wanted to commit suicide, why would he call me, say he was coming home early, and plan to go to your house? Raj was not a coward. I know he had some work pressure, but he would never do that. He also promised Anvi that he would take her to tennis practice. How could someone who said all that and was acting normal commit suicide? If he had problems at work, he would have changed his job instead of taking his own life."Janvi explains, her voice filled with conviction.
"Do you think someone is hiding something?" Vikram asks.
Janvi shakes her head, "I don't know. I'm just focusing on the kids and their future right now."
"Don't worry, everything will be fine. We're all here to help you," Vikram reassures her.
"Thank you," Janvi says with a small smile. "I have a meeting with the insurance people now, so I'll take my leave."
As Janvi leaves, Vikram gets a call from Jack. He picks up the phone and says, "Hello?" His pupils dilate with shock.
