Baxter's library was truly something special. It wasn't one of the smooth, white tabled, pristine, shushing libraries. It was home to all. Everyone was welcome, as advertised on the sign at the front. Baxter himself claimed he had once had an honest-to-goodness fairy once. No one believed him, but all humored his fantasies. I have never once met anyone who so much as disliked him. Baxter himself was a greying man in his late 70s, with sparkling green eyes and he was a hopeless romantic. Which is why he had opened 'The Notes Section'. See, Baxter's library was not government run, and was full of a miscellaneous collection of books, gathered throughout his life and travels. The library itself had no official archive system. Just Baxter's memory, which was almost as good. The system always had a few hiccups but they were always ironed out without fail. Except for the goblin incident. But no one talked about the goblin incident.

Back to 'The Notes Section'. Baxter was a tireless advocate for romance which had led to the creation of his favorite section. A wide variety of books called it home and people were encouraged to take home the book and read and annotate it. Then they would return it and wait for another individual to repeat the process with the same book, but annotate in a different color. The idea was for people to bond over a book and their opinions on it. It allowed people to come back and see if someone had responded to their annotations. And an alarming number of times, it had resulted in true love. No one knew how. They kind of just referred to it as 'Baxter Magic'. The magic had bewitched the entire town. But this particular story is about Lotte and Henry. And it's a particularly special one. Well, all of them are, but this one is particularly so.

First let me introduce our characters, I hate having to work details into the story so let me give you all the basics now. We have Lotte. Her name is technically Charlotte but she hated it with a fiery passion, hence Lotte. She is tall, I do love a tall girl, as a shortie myself and she had the most gorgeous springy brown curls that she kept in a bob. She had mischievous green eyes and was a kindergarten teacher. Hence, she had boundless energy. And then there was Henry. Everyone loved Henry, he was just one of those people, short with messy brown hair and clear blue eyes he was a university professor and taught literature. And he only occasionally wore cardigans. This particular love story took place over Jane Austen's classic, Persuasion.

There, I've introduced all of the important people. Oh, I forgot! My name is Evelyn by the way, but I'm not important right now.
