Night Time

David: Mike for the last time, I won't wear the ghostbusters costume!
Mike: You'll ruin it!
David: There are already 4 ghostbusters, I will be useless!
Mike: Just do it!
David: Mike, the whole point of Halloween is, being SCARY! Ghostbusters aren't that scary!
Mike: So?
David: And no one will dress in costumes, I bet you that!
Mike: Everyone did last year, they will dress this year aswell!
David: I WON'T DRESS AS A GHOSTBUSTER!
Mike went silent
David: Look, I can carry the camera, record all of you, and carry your bags alright? I will i duplicate it for all 5 of you aswell, okay?
Mike: Okay...
David: Thanks, see you tomorrow!
David hang up the phone
He checked the clock in the living room, it was 11:21 AM, he started getting ready for bed, he gave one last look to his costume, he was gonna dress as Jason, it was simple really, he found a hockey mask at the pawn shop and after some decorating with Will it was enough, then he got some of his dads old clothes and decorated them a little, a brown jacket, black shirt inside and black pants was enough, the important part was the mask, so the costume was ready, after looking at it one more time, feeling satisfied with his work, he went to bed.
You might be wondering why David didn't wanted to dress up with the gang, well, he has his reasons, you see, David was a little bit of a fanatic of Halloween ever since he was tiny, it was a perfect holiday, but might not be his favorite - he felt cheesy admitting that Christmas was his favorite - but for David, Halloween was the one night of the year where he got to feel something bigger than himself.
Ever since David was little he loved monster movies, he never missed a episode of Darkroom. Maybe he liked the feeling of tension and excitement, he never knew, why he liked them so much, maybe he forgot the reason but his love for monster movies led to other things aswell...

One night, during 1977, to ease the tension in to house due to their fights, David's dad wanted to have a movie night, so he picked a movie to rent, and it was "The Exorcist"... Poor Monty had no idea what the movie was about, and after watching the movie he got into a very serious argument with Joanna about what they just made a 6 year old watch, but to both of their shock, David wasn't scared, he actually like the movie, because the horror and excitement of the movie made him forget about all of his worries at home, which amazed him.
After that Exorcist incident David wanted to do a horror movie Friday every night with his parents, which they hesitantly agreed, they were getting concerned for their son loving to watch people die and the amount of gore he saw, but after a month, David confessed his real feelings to his parents...
His parents tryed their best, but ultimately failed and got a divorce in the end...
But watching movies on tape, David was also interested in something else, how can he watch move is in a piece of tape? How is it recorded? How does tapes work? Could he record his own tape?
With the door of curiosity opening, he started studying, and learning, he then learned cassette tapes existed, after that how sound travels peaked his curiosity, and with that, he got interested in music and that's how he ended up in AV Club, and became a nerd with a skateboard.
