Wilbur held onto the window ledge with one hand, and grabbed the drainpipe with the other, hoisting himself onto it. "It's safe, I promise." He offered a hand out to Quackity, who sat on the ledge looking down at the fall.
He took Wilbur's hand and guided himself onto the edge of the window.

Wilbur pulled him onto the drainpipe and started shimmying his way down, reaching the ground floor. "Keep going, you're fine!" He called out to Quackity, who slowly followed in the Princes footsteps.

He jumped off the pipe and onto the stone floor, steadying himself and dusting off his shirt. "Where are we going? You know the Governor will kill me if I get caught!"

"Schlatt, won't lay a finger on you. I'll take the fall, I promise." Wilbur stick his finger out offering a pinky promise, which quackity hesitantly returned.

He adjusted his boots and started jogging past the throne room, and court table. Wilbur sat down on the grass just below the office window, and waved his hand to Quackity, who came and sat with him. "My dad, and the governor are in there!" He whispered, holding in a laugh as quackity rolled his eyes and pulled a face.

The pair crawled away from the window, and eventually started to run through the palace grounds, into the woods. "Wil.. are you sure this is safe? There's like.. negative zero guards around here."

Wilbur pulled himself onto a tree branch, and started to climb. "I'm like, seventy-five percent sure. Plus, we're still on Royal Soil." He swung his legs over one of the branches, and looked down at Quackity, who was trying to mount a weird looking branch on the edge of the tree.

"They'll have a whole search party looking out for you if they find out you're missing." The boy leant against the tree trunk, letting his limbs flop from exhaustion. "It'll be my fault as well. Easier to punish the kitchen boy than it is to punish the prince, right?"

The prince dropped from his branch onto Quackitys, and sat next to him. "What d'you mean?"

"Your punishments are easy. You just have to stay in the palace for a day or two." He frowned, looking up at him.

Wilbur put his arm around Quackity reassuringly. "I guess so. But like I said, I'll take the blame."

"If you're sure Wilbur."

"That's your highness, to you."

Quackity lifted his hand to swat Wilbur in the face, accidentally smacking his glasses, which fell to the floor and shattered.

"Oh shit- I'm so sorry wil oh my gods."

"It's okay, don't sweat. We do need to head back though."

"Wilbur!" Schlatt yelled, marching his way into the princes dormitory. "Oh, you're awake."

Wilbur turned around to face him, and smiled. "Yes, I am."

"What on earth? How did this happen!" The governor took the glasses from Wilbur's face and inspected them. The lenses were cracked all over, and the frame very beaten up.

"I dropped them. Sorry."

"Dropped them? Your father is going to go ballistic if he finds out!" Schlatt rolled the glasses in his fingertips before handing them back to Wilbur.

Wilbur knitted his brows and frowned. "I don't care. It's not like I see him anyway."

The governor grimaced and snatched the glasses from the princes hand once again. "Don't talk of his Majesty like that. I'll have these fixed, your punishment will be discussed later."

The prince rolled his eyes as Schlatt left the room and closed the door.

Punished for an accident. AGAIN. Wilbur thought it was ridiculous, the governor being in charge of him. His title was much higher above his, after all.

Wilbur slid his boots on and shuffled his way down the stairs.

< ^QUACKITY POV^>

Quackity wiped the sweat from his forehead and pulled his beanie off his head, throwing it onto the kitchen worktop.

It was hot in the kitchen, even in winter with the heavy snowfall outside. Puffy had the heaters on, and god it was hot.

He swivelled away from the bead oven to see Wilbur in the doorway, and quickly pulled his hat back on, and nudged puffy. "Puffy, I'm tired! Please can I have a quick break?"

Puffy turned around to face the boy, "Quackity what have I told you abo-" She glanced towards the doorway and saw the prince stood there, talking to his brother. "Okay. Fine, but quickly."

Quackity grinned and pulled his apron off, letting it drop to the floor as he dashed out the kitchen.

"Wilbur!" He laughed and shoved his elbow into the princes side.

Wilbur groaned and turned to face the other, smiling when he realised who it was. "Hey trouble. You ok?"

"Yeah, I'm good. Come on, I only have 10 minutes!" Quackity grabbed Wilbur's arm and pulled him down the hall, techno rolling his eyes and walking off.

"Where are we going?!" Wilbur squeeled, chasing after Quackity nether the less.

But it was obvious where. It was their spot, and it would be for the rest of their lives. The rooftop.
