Days continued in this manner. Elarion was tortured by Garth all day while working in the field. After his work was done, Garth would whip him or squeeze his wing for fun. At night, when Elarion returned, Sara was always there to support him. She would treat his injuries and feed him gently, caring for him secretly without her father knowing. Whenever she got injured due to her father's beatings, Elarion used his healing magic to heal her wounds. Her gentle touch was a balm to his injuries.
Although he loved her company very much, he couldn't help but worry about her. Many times he asked her to leave him alone, but she was persistent. She loved him deeply and purely with all her heart and wanted to be with him, though she believed a dragon fairy tortured by her father would never love her back. Thus she kept her feelings for him hidden deep in her innocent heart. Her love for him was pure and innocent. She longs to be with him and to be loved by him. She longs for him to love her. Each time she sees her father hurting him, her innocent heart aches for the man she loved. She wished she could do something, anything to help him. She loves him deeply. Unbeknownst to her, he had begun to fall in love with her as well. Whenever he was with her, he felt a rush of affection for the innocent girl. He wanted to hold her close, to hold her delicate hands, to embrace her, to touch her, to kiss her, to express his feelings, and to ask if she felt the same. He wanted to protect her, but he held himself back, knowing that being with him would get her into trouble with her father.
One day, the farmer's tortures were especially intense. Garth squeezed Elarion's wing very hard, causing him immense pain. He also whipped Elarion severely. Sara saw it and ran to stop her father. She threw herself between Elarion and Garth, standing protectively in front of Elarion.
"Father, please stop!" she yelled. "If you want to hurt someone, whip me instead. But please don't hurt Elarion."
Elarion was horrified. "Sara, what are you doing?! Move, or you will get hurt!" he yelled.
"Move, Sara," Garth commanded. She glared at her father for the first time. "No, I won't. Father, you are a monster. How could you hurt him like that?"
Her words and glare made Garth's anger reach its peak, and he whipped her brutally. Elarion's rage reached its peak. He quickly got to his feet and punched Garth hard.
"You monster! How could you hurt a woman so brutally?! She is your own daughter! You call yourself a man?! You are a disgrace as a male!" he yelled, his voice sharp and harsh.
Garth, furious, squeezed Elarion's wing hard again. Elarion winced in pain. Sara moved to his side and hugged him, tears streaming down her face. Her care for Elarion only made Garth angrier.
"Sara! How dare you shed tears for that creature?!" he yelled.
Sara didn't answer. She just held onto Elarion as he endured the pain. Her silence only fueled Garth's anger more, and he whipped both of them. When he was done, both Sara and Elarion were injured and bruised. Garth left them and stomped off. Elarion quickly moved to Sara's side and started healing her with his magic.
"You fool. Why did you try to help me? Now look at yourself," he said harshly.
She smiled weakly at him. "I couldn't let my father torture you like that. You are too precious to me." She then reached out and cupped his face gently. "I care about you too much to let my father hurt you so cruelly." She said.
Unable to hold himself back, Elarion embraced her. "You idiot," he said softly.
She hugged him back. "Yes, I am. Elarion, you are too important to me. If you are in trouble, I will definitely help you. Even if it means getting hurt myself." she said.
Her words brought tears to his eyes, but he held them back, as he gently stroked her hair.
Garth's torture continued, increasing in intensity. Unable to see Elarion in such pain, one night Sara stole Elarion's wing from her father and handed it to him.
"What is this?" Elarion asked.
"It's your wing. Please, Elarion, take this and go. You are free from now on," she said, smiling.
Elarion was horrified. "Sara, what were you thinking? Why did you do it?" he asked, grabbing her shoulders firmly.
"I can't bear to see you in such pain. Every day my father cruelly tortures you. It's hard for me to see. Please go," she said, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"You know your father will be furious if he finds out. That man is a monster and he will kill you," Elarion said, his voice filled with concern.
"I don't care about what happens to me. I don't want you to suffer anymore. It's very hard for me to see. Please take this and go," she pleaded.
Elarion held the severed wing in his hands, the symbol of his lost freedom now within his grasp. He looked at Sara, her eyes full of tears and desperation. He couldn't leave her behind to face her father's wrath.
"I can't do that. If I really listen to you and go, then I will be leaving you in danger on purpose. I can't do that," he said firmly.
She cupped his cheeks, her touch gentle and warm. "Please go. I want you to be happy. You don't deserve the harsh treatment you receive in my father's hands," she said, smiling through her tears.
Suddenly, they heard a loud crash. Garth had discovered the missing wing and was now storming towards Sara's room, his face contorted with rage. He burst through the door, eyes blazing.
