Maraiah's POV
"Hija, someone told me that someone took you there? And she kissed you? Is it true?"
I stared at the ceiling. Mikhail had predicted the news would reach my parents tomorrow, but I was wrong. My back wasn't even warm in my bed yet, and I received a call from my mother.
I wouldn't hold it against the helper. I knew my parents had ordered her to report what was happening. As Mikhail said, it was in her favor because I wouldn't think of a good introduction to let my parents know I had a girlfriend. Only, that girlfriend was just for show.
"Who told you, Mom?" I fell onto the bed.
"I have eyes there. Now darling, tell me who's that girl? Did she really kiss you? Alex said that woman is pretty handsome and..." I sighed exaggeratedly. Supposedly, I was forced to tell them about her.
"She's Mikhail Redfern Arsenault."
"And?" she asked.
"Oh, come on Mommy, what do you want to hear?" I asked back.
"I want to hear: 'Mom, I've seen her! My princess charming!'" she answered quickly.
"If you allow that woman to kiss you, then..."
"Alright Mom, Mikhail is my girlfriend." I interrupted.
"Tell Dad he's lost, I found a girlfriend even though her grace period hasn't ended yet. Dump that arranged marriage thing now."
"Maraiah Quin, just make sure that woman isn't a girlfriend for hire." My Daddy spoke up. In that case, he had been listening to me and Mommy's conversation for a while.
"Of course not!" I immediately refused, even though I was nervous. It turns out my Daddy has an idea for such a scenario.
"Mikhail is an authentic girlfriend. She's real." I couldn't help but wince. Mikhail should be a really good actress in front of my parents.
"We'll find out hija, we'll find out when we get home," Daddy said. It's just over a week, and he'll be home.
"So tell us about Mikhail,"
I answered immediately. Both my cheeks warmed up. Why not, the words came out naturally placed at the tip of my tongue and just waiting to be said. It's a good thing no one saw me blush. I suddenly thought of that seductive hunk! to that Mikhail.
After that, I politely said goodbye to my parents. I opened the inbox and found her name there. I smiled, why, I just smiled. And I was excited, too. I opened and read the message.
Honey, I was calling but the phone's busy. Anyway, I'm home, safe and sound. Then she calls while I'm talking to my parents. I sighed. I felt regret that me and her didn't talk. I felt that I had missed it. And she called me honey even in a text message? I smiled…and shivered, even though I knew it was still part of the show.
I thought about whether to answer it or not. And if I would, what my answer? Sorry honey, my parents called because... I grimaced. Why did it sound so corny to listen to? I chose not to answer.
Until it rang again. Mikhail is calling. I smiled and composed myself before accepting my call.
"Mikhail.." I said.
"Hon, did you receive my text message?" I closed my eyes. Her voice is very smooth even on the phone, husky and sexy. It could be a DJ. By chance, I'm sure to have a lot of raving listeners here.
"Y-yes, I received it. Actually, I just read it. I'm sorry. My daddy called. And guess what? The news about you reached them right away." I said. She just laughed.
