In the middle of the night, Valerie suddenly woke up from a really bad nightmare.
She saw herself in her dream, meeting a certain blonde whose-name shall not be spoken. In her nightmare, she-who-shall-not-be-named was the one that she was paired with.
In reality, Valerie shook her head before going downstairs to drink a glass of water. She blamed her dream on the fact that she came across the blue-eyed-blonde on the mall.
She went back to bed and tried to sleep, but it took her three hours to do so.
At seven in the morning, Valerie was woken up by her phone ringing loudly from her nightstand. She groaned as she sleepily picked it up and answered the phone call.
"Good morning, Val!" Aaron greeted with enthusiasm.
"G'morning," she replied, clearing her throat when her voice came out dry.
"Listen, about the meeting later this afternoon. Your partner's publicist called me earlier that her client can't come, and it would be delayed for a few hours. She said that the meeting would be moved to dinner at seven, and you would meet your partner by then."
"It's fine. Are you still not gonna tell me who my partner is gonna be?"
"I'm sorry, but I have been told not to tell you. Your partner also doesn't know who you are, and they said it would be good to avoid any feuds."
She scoffed. "Avoid any feuds? What if me and my partner doesn't like each other?"
"Then you have to try and be civil for the sake of your careers," he replied. There were some shuffling that could be heard from his side of the call before he started speaking again, "Anyway, I have to go now. I still need to continue piling all this paperworks. Take care, Val. And also, try not to forget about this meeting."
"That was one time!"
"And it was an important meeting. You were lucky they let you delay the meeting. You could've lost your job."
"Whatever."
After their phone call, Valerie trudged downstairs to eat some breakfast. She placed a slice of bread on the toaster while making herself a cup of coffee. Once her toast was done, she sat down and started eating while looking at some emails that Aaron sent her.
It was some information about her PR partner.
Her fake girlfriend was blonde with blue eyes, tall, great at doing her job, and hella gorgeous.
She was left thinking on who the woman could be. She knew a lot of celebrities that were just like the one that got described.
I mean, it could be Margot Robbie.
She chuckled to herself as she finished the last bite of her toast and drowned her coffee. Although, she still couldn't get her nightmare to stop from playing again and again in the back of her mind. She decided that it would be good for her to go and take a bath, so she quickly padded upstairs to go shower.
Once she was done, she changed into some comfortable clothes. Since she didn't have anything to do until the dinner meeting, she decided to go outside on her backyard to get some fresh air while reading a book.
She picked out a random book from her bookshelf and applied some sunscreen on her face and body before going outside to sit on the hammock near the pool. She spent the whole afternoon reading, that she actually finished the book just before it got dark.
She got back inside and changed into a black bodysuit, pairing it with a black miniskirt and black ankle length boots.
No one told her that there would be a dress code.
She looked at the time, and it was still thirty minutes before seven. She was gonna wait for Aaron to pick her up. She applied some light makeup in her face that made her look fucking gorgeous.
A few minutes later, her doorbell rang, followed by a text from Aaron that he was outside. She grabbed her purse and made her way towards the front door, greeting Aaron once she got outside. They both got inside Aaron's car and he started driving, followed by another car with securities.
As they got closer and closer to the place that they were gonna have their meeting, Valerie got more and more anxious. She didn't know why she was feeling that way. She didn't need to feel that way. But her nerves told her otherwise. She had a feeling that something was gonna get wrong.
She looked outside the window, think about all the worst case scenarios. She really hoped her nightmare wouldn't come true.
"We're here," Aaron said as he parked the car on the restaurant's parking garage.
When Jake opened the door for them, they were immediately greeted by a lot of paparazzi. What was wrong with those people? They were always at the ready when they see celebrities in a certain place.
They cautiously walked towards the door of the restaurant with Jake and Paul securing them by blocking the paparazzi from getting to them. When they got inside, they were greeted by the lady who was working on the front desk and a staff who guided them towards their table.
They were led to a private area, and Valerie was beyond thankful. She can't handle all the eyes that were possibility gonna stare at them.
They sat down on the table, waiting for their business partners to arrive. A waiter walked up to them and asked them if they wanted a drink, but they politely declined, thinking that it would be rude to drink without waiting for the other two women to arrive.
Jake and Paul were sitting on another table near them for safety reasons, and they were also free to order anything they want and Valerie would be paying for it.
Valerie and Aaron talked for a while, until they heard loud screams coming from outside of the restaurant.
Wow, those paparazzi really have good vocal chords.
A few more minutes later, two muscular men and two women were escorted to the same table as theirs.
Valerie and Aaron stood up, getting ready to meet their business partners. Valerie observed the people coming their way.
The two muscular men that were blocking her view with the women went straight to the table where her security were, and only then did she see the other two.
She couldn't believe it. Her nightmare was coming true. The blonde looked up and met Valerie's eyes.
They held eye contact for a second until they snapped out of it and Valerie looked down on her lap while fidgeting with her fingers.
This was gonna be a long night.
