"Edith," she greeted softly, her voice like a balm to my frayed nerves. "You came."

"I couldn't stay away," I admitted, stepping inside as she moved aside to let me in. The door closed behind me with a soft click, shutting out the world beyond and leaving just the two of us in the intimate space of the lodge.

The interior was cozy, with a rustic charm that made it feel like a secluded retreat. Soft, golden light from a few strategically placed lamps filled the room, casting a warm, inviting glow. A plush sofa sat against one wall, draped with a knitted blanket, and a small table held an assortment of candles, their flames flickering gently in the dim light. The air was tinged with the subtle scent of sandalwood, creating an atmosphere of calm and relaxation.

Lena's eyes met mine again, and I could see the same mix of emotions in her gaze that mirrored my own-nervousness, excitement, and something else that felt like the promise of something more. She stepped closer, her fingers brushing against mine in a gesture that was both tentative and full of unspoken intention.

"I was worried you might change your mind," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper as if speaking too loudly might break the spell that had settled between us.

I shook my head, my voice steady even though my heart was racing. "I couldn't have. Not after everything..."

Lena's smile softened, and she reached up to touch my face, her fingers tracing the line of my jaw with a tenderness that made my breath hitch. "I'm glad," she murmured, her eyes locking onto mine with a gaze that felt like it could see right through to my soul.

For a moment, we stood there, the air between us charged with anticipation. Every detail of the room, every flicker of candlelight, every sound seemed amplified, like the world had narrowed to just the two of us in this quiet, intimate space.

"Do you want to sit down?" Lena asked, breaking the silence but not the intensity of the moment. She gestured to the sofa, her expression inviting yet still tinged with that same nervous energy that I felt coursing through my own veins.

I nodded, and together we moved to the sofa, sitting close but not quite touching. The proximity sent a shiver down my spine, the awareness of her presence almost overwhelming. My hands rested in my lap, fidgeting slightly as I tried to calm the racing thoughts in my mind.

"So..." Lena began, her voice soft as she looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and something deeper, something that made my heart race all over again. "What do you think? Of this... of us?"

"I think... this feels right," I said slowly, my voice steady despite the storm of emotions swirling inside me.

Lena's eyes glimmered with a tender heat as her fingers intertwined with mine, her touch sparking a fire that ignited every nerve in my body. "I feel the same way," she murmured, her voice hushed yet brimming with a deep, undeniable truth. The intensity of her gaze sent a shiver of anticipation through me, a sweet ache that pulsed in my chest.

She leaned in closer, the space between us vanishing until her breath mingled with mine. Her free hand rose to cup my cheek, thumb brushing lightly over my skin, leaving a trail of warmth in its wake. I turned my face into her palm, my eyes fluttering shut as I surrendered to the inevitable. Lena guided my lips to hers, and the world around us seemed to dissolve.

The kiss began softly. Our lips moved in a slow, sensuous rhythm, exploring the edges of each other's desire. But when our mouths parted, inviting a deeper embrace, any semblance of restraint melted away. A wave of heat surged through me, drowning out everything but the exquisite feel of Lena's tongue sliding against mine.

Each kiss more intoxicating than the last, making me crave her with a desperation that bordered on madness. The urgency of our need grew with each passing second, our bodies gravitating toward one another with a force that was impossible to resist.
