Tera paced back and forth in the police station, her anxiety palpable. Each tick of the clock felt like a hammering reminder of the time slipping away while Eric remained missing. The room, filled with concerned faces and murmured conversations, did little to comfort her. Her eyes flitted over the gathered group-Caden, Shaunce, Tyler, Sequoya, Alejandro, Demetrius, and Antasia-all deeply engrossed in discussions about the lead Jordan had mentioned. But for Tera, it felt like they were stalling, their words a blur of empty reassurances.

"I can't just sit here," she muttered under her breath, her frustration mounting. The worry etched into her face was mirrored in Caden's steady gaze as he watched her with a mix of concern and helplessness.

"Just a bit longer, Tera," Caden said softly, his hand resting reassuringly on her shoulder. "We'll get something concrete soon. We need to stay focused."

Tera nodded absently, her mind racing. As Detective Jordan continued his briefing, she found her thoughts drifting back to the pile of evidence they'd already sifted through. She had examined every detail, but something had nagged at her-a fragment of information that had slipped through the cracks.

Antasia, usually reserved, spoke up. "Detective, do we have any specific details about possible locations? Anything that might help us narrow it down?"

Jordan's reply was curt but firm. "We're working on it, but it's a complex situation. The clues are scattered, and we're trying to piece them together."

Tera's eyes narrowed as she replayed the scene in her mind. There had to be something more, something they had missed. She forced herself to focus on the scattered clues-maps, reports, and cryptic notes. A nagging detail resurfaced: a seemingly innocuous comment from one of the old news articles about a forest in the area where several people had gone missing years ago.

Unable to shake the feeling, Tera excused herself from the group, her heart pounding with a mix of determination and desperation. She hurried to the evidence room, where she rifled through the files with frantic energy. Her fingers brushed over a map with several marked locations. One area in particular-a dense forest-seemed oddly emphasized.

She scanned the old articles again, her eyes catching on a mention of a remote cabin hidden deep within the woods. The article was buried beneath layers of dust and despair, its significance only now coming into sharp focus. A pattern emerged, a chilling connection between the past and present. The forest had always been mentioned in hushed tones, linked to disappearances and eerie occurrences.

Tera's pulse quickened. This was it. The clue they had overlooked might be the key to finding Eric. She knew she couldn't wait for the group to catch up. She had to act now.

With resolve hardening in her chest, Tera gathered essential supplies-maps, a flashlight, some rope, and a few basic survival tools. Her hands shook slightly as she prepared, but her determination was unshakable. She scribbled a quick note explaining her departure and left it where the group would find it. She couldn't afford to waste time explaining or convincing them; she needed to act.

The forest was a daunting expanse of dark, tangled trees and overgrown paths. As Tera drove towards the edge of the woods, her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and fears. The road narrowed and twisted, the forest encroaching on either side like a living wall of shadows. She parked her car at the trailhead and took a deep breath, steeling herself for what lay ahead.

The path into the forest was narrow and treacherous, winding through dense underbrush and towering trees. The sun was setting, casting long, eerie shadows across the trail. Every snap of a twig or rustle in the leaves heightened Tera's senses, making her acutely aware of the isolation.

Her flashlight pierced the encroaching darkness, revealing the path ahead. She followed the trail, her steps slow and deliberate, every sound magnified by the silence of the forest. The further she went, the more oppressive the darkness became, and her own sense of dread seemed to grow.

After what felt like hours of navigating through the thickening gloom, she stumbled upon a small clearing. There, partially hidden by dense foliage, was an old, decrepit cabin. The sight of it sent a shiver down her spine-this had to be the place.

Tera approached cautiously, her heart racing. The cabin was ramshackle, with broken windows and a sagging roof, but it matched the description she had pieced together from the articles. She circled the perimeter, noting possible entry points and any signs of recent activity.

Her emotions were a turbulent mix of hope and anxiety. She had found the place, but now came the hardest part: getting inside without alerting anyone. With careful precision, she tested the doors and windows, finding one that creaked open just enough for her to slip through.

Inside, the cabin was eerily quiet, the air thick with dust and decay. The dim light of her flashlight revealed the interior-rusty old furniture, discarded items, and signs of recent habitation. Tera moved stealthily, her senses on high alert as she searched for clues about Eric and the others.

In one corner, she found a stack of papers and old, yellowed maps. Her flashlight illuminated a grim picture of the area and a disturbing record of past events. It became clear that this cabin had been used for more than just hiding-it was a central hub for the killer's operations.

Tera's eyes burned with tears of frustration and determination. She had found the place, but Eric and the others were still out there. Her mission was far from over, but this discovery gave her a glimmer of hope.

She prepared to leave, making sure to cover her tracks as best as she could. As she headed back to the path, she knew the rescue would be the next crucial step. This was only the beginning of a dangerous journey, but Tera was ready. She had a lead, a plan, and an unwavering resolve to save the ones she loved.
