7 days after the present day
I took a shaky deep breath in as I prepared to speak in a room full of humanity's greatest scientific minds to discuss the protection of our future.
"In all your travels did you ever encounter an AI named Revlis?" I asked, creating an eerie silence, as I stared at a future version of myself through a screen.
The future version of myself shook her head carefully contemplating her next words as she diverted her eyes downward for a moment almost with sadness.
"As you all know." She said looking up,"I; have taken a vow due to the Tempest Accords. That I would never reveal any information that could potentially alter or influence your future. Your path is yours to walk. And yours alone."
I shut my eyes with instant disappointment at her words. My words. Reaching out to a future version of myself years from now was a desperate attempt but a necessary one.
"However," She continued to speak, "With that being said. Revlis Verglas is the most dangerous threat our galaxy has ever faced. He is brilliant, cruel, and he will not hesitate to kill every living thing that stands in his way....including every single one of you." She said exchanging looks with everyone in the room.
Goosebumps scattered across my arms as gasps and mumbled panicked conversations began to flood the room.
"Did you defeat him?" I asked.
She inhaled with desolation in her eyes, "At great cost...yes."
