Run, Run, Run!, my heart screamed as it beat furiously against my chest. Sweat beaded on my forehead, my legs were on fire. I could hear the howling, the bone-chilling howl that belonged to the beast that wanted me. I briefly checked to see if the beast was still pursuing me. I saw nothing behind me. I slowed down my breathing as I stopped running. Fear continued to creep up my spine as I heard the snap of a twig. I slowly turned my head around.

         The beast had found me.

I slowly backed up away from it. It growled and walked forward, fangs glistening with saliva. Its bright gold eyes glared right into mine. Something hard bumped against my back, a tree.

I was stuck. There was nowhere left to run.

The beast suddenly slammed its hands onto my shoulders, pinning me to the tree. I could feel its claws go through my shirt. The beast growled again, having caught its prey.

My throat was too dry for me to scream. My heart was beating faster than a Maglev train. The beast suddenly roared and jumped at me, fangs bared.
