Athena childhood wasn't easy. Her twin sister Rachel. Suffers from gruesome nightmares. And Athena stays up every night to ensure that nothing happens to her sister. Rachel adores her twin. Rachel maybe older but Athena was always the one taking care of Rachel. Making sure that she wasn't bullied Had enough to eat and that she could wake Rachel from her nightmares in the night.
Athena's pov:
I was laying in bed opposite of Rachel. Staring at the ceiling and once in a while looking at Rachel to make sure she's safe. I don't mind having to stay up al night for my sister to make sure she isn't having a nightmare.
I was looking at the ceiling thinking about the next day. When I heard Rachel thrashing in bed. I quickly get out of bed and run to Rachel.
" Rachel wake up it's just a dream" I say shaking her.
" Rachel!" I say still shaking her when our mom walks into the room.
" wake up! It's just a dream" mom says putting her hands on rachels shoulder. Rachel suddenly sits up panting.
Mom quickly hugs Rachel whispering what it was just a dream to her. I sit down to her bed on the floor. I take her and hold it in
" Take a breath, honey. Just calm down." Mom says rubbing Rachel's shoulder.
" The circus again! The boy...Watching his parents fall.Oh, God. It was so scary. I felt it." Rachel says rubbing her face.
" Okay. Just breathe like we practiced, okay?" Rachel takes a deep breath in and then exhales. And then repeats it a few times
" good girl" mom says smiling slightly.
" Sweetie, you need to get a little more rest. Come on." Mom says tugging Rachel in then she looks at me
" you to honey, come here" mom says mentioning for me to get up
I look at Rachel
" do you want me to lay with you?" I ask. She then nods. I smile and get in her bed with her. Mom smiles at us and then kisses both our foreheads
" Everything is gonna be okay" mom says walking to the door.
" Mom?" Rachel asks
" Yeah?"
"Keep the door locked." Rachel says scared that something is going to happen again. Mom nods and walks out the room locking the door.
I turn to Rachel and hug her.
" you wanna talk about it?" I ask.
" not really I'll tell you tomorrow. " she says sleepy I nod and lay down still hugging her.
