I grabbed his wrist and took him outside. I left go of his wrist in we were outside and kept walking until we reached the koi fish pond. He stayed silent the entire time.

"Are you upset?" He asked me. I shook my head no.

"How could I be upset? Your father was probably the one that dragged you here." I sighed, sitting down on the rusty old bunch that was surprisingly still hanging on to live another day.

"I was upset at first. But once I realized it was your house, it was okay. It meant that I got to see you again." He sat down next to me.

"Just see me? You didn't want to talk?" I teased him.

"Oh, t-thats not what I meant." He blushed, embarrassed. I giggled.

"It's okay. I'm just pulling your leg." I said. He looked at me confused.

"But you didn't touch my leg." He said. Now it was my turn to look at him confused.

"Huh?"

"You said you were pulling my leg. You didn't touch me." He said. I coughed, covering up a laugh.

"I meant that I was joking. I wasn't serious. It's a saying. It's not meant to be taken literally." I explained.

"Oh..." he nodded. Fuck. Now, this is awkward. I've seen him two days in a row, and this isn't normal for me.

"Do you like the party?" I asked.

"It's very... blue." He replied. I sighed.

"It is... isn't it?" I stared down at my dress.

"Feeling blue?" I could tell he was trying to joke with me like I did with him, but it just sounded so corny coming from him. I let out a small, breathy laugh.

"Yeah." I smiled at him. It's my birthday. I can do what I want.

"Do you not like the color blue?" He asked.

"It's not that I don't like it... I just feel like I'm being forced to like it. I mean, look at me. Every day since I was five, my birthday has been blue. It's not even my birthday, I share it with my brother. And don't even get me started on him. This whole stupid day just sucks. It's so shitty." I ranted.

"What's your favorite color?" He asked. I turned away from him, not wanting to face him.

"Purple. My favorite color is purple." I answered.

"I bet purple is the best color on you. Not even blue looks as good as purple does on you." He said.

"Was that a compliment?"

"I... don't know." That's when it started to rain.

"Come on, Todoroki. I don't want you to get in trouble." I said, getting off the bench.

"Kisaragi."

"Yes?"

"You can call me Shoto." He said nervously. That was the first time I ever saw him so nervous. Cute was the first word that came to mind.

"You can call me Yumiko." I smiled at him. He smiled back, and we both headed back inside. We ate then we did cake and then I opened up my presents. We danced. Then we said goodbye.

"Shoto..." I whispered in his ear as we danced.

"Hm?"

"You made my birthday a little less shittier."
