With Natalie alone, waiting to see if Iris was okay, she started overthinking, "What if it was actually me that hurt Iris? She seems so sweet. Oh god, Jax and Cal would kill me if they found out, just like Father when I made a mistake." Natalie kept overthinking to the point that she almost started crying. "Okay calm down Natalie, maybe you're just hungry, go find some food," she told herself. Natalie walked herself into Cal's kitchen. "No, no, that's not human food, no, and no. There isn't anything in here for me, and Jax told me to stay. Ugh, but I am hungry!" She complained to herself. "What's the worst thing that can happen if I go outside? Well if I stay in here I could DIE of hunger," she started exaggerating.
Natalie opened the door and exited the house. "Wait, I don't know my way around here." "Oh well!" She started walking, making sure to close the door behind her. "Stay out of town and I won't be spotted." She walked around the open area to try and find food, at this point Natalie was starving. Natalie walked but made sure to remember the pathway of where she was going. She ended up stumbling upon a cave. "What's this? A cave? Why not explore, I am bored anyway." Natalie walked into the cave but was careful not to make too much noise, she didn't know what was in there, "Woah, everything is glowing," she whispered to herself. Suddenly Natalie heard voices, Natalie immediately hit behind a giant glowing rock.
"Help her hurry! I've tried everything on my own!" The voice yelled. Natalie recognized the voice, the voice was Cal's. Natalie then started following the voice to see where it was coming from. She found them, which seemed to be in the center of the glowing cave. Nat hid behind another big rock to not be spotted. After all, she didn't listen to Jax's orders. She carefully listened.
"We are trying everything Cal, please calm down," a guy from the wolfpack told him.
"Cal, it's going to be okay. She will be okay," Jax told him, still trying to calm him down.
"Well if SHE is going to be okay go find the medicine," Cal demanded Jax.
"Fine!" Jax said, making the ground rumble a bit, Natalie lost her balance and fell.
"What was that!?" Cal yelled. "Who's in here!?" Cal started to look around.
"Crap they are going to find me," Natalie whispered to herself as she quietly got up and slowly exited.
"Jax go find the person who was spying on us," Cal told him.
"On it," Jax said, now running.
Natalie made it out of the cave but was found. Jax ran out of the cave and straight to Natalie.
"Nat? What are you doing here?" Jax asked. "I thought I told you to stay at Cal's house.
"I am s-s-sorry," Natalie stuttered, "I got hungry a-and there w-e-were no food that I-I-I could eat."
"I guess that's fine. Wait, are you scared?" Jax asked.
"W-What of course n-n-not!" Natalie continued to stutter.
"You are, Nat don't lie to me, here let's get you some food," he said as he started to walk with Natalie. "Wait what are you? So I know what food you can't have."
"Uh, is there anything safe for all kinds?" Natalie asked, trying to keep her identity a secret.
"Well safe for all kinds except witches, yeah. Why can't I know? Are you a witch?" Jax accused.
"No! I am not a witch," Natalie yelled.
"Okay, then let's get the food," he said, now walking into town. Natalie made sure to stay very close to Jax. As they walked into the store to get food Natalie had felt as if they had been followed the whole way from the cave to the supermarket or whatever they called it on their land.
Jax and Natalie got the food and headed up to the cash register.
"Ayy Jax how ya doin mate?" The guy at the cash register said.
"Pretty good, how about you?" Jax said, lying to him because he was not good due to Isabella's health.
"Good, who's hiding behind you?" he asked.
Jax hadn't even noticed Natalie was hiding behind him, "She must be uncomfortable in town," he thought to himself.
"This is my friend Nat," he said.
Natalie came out from hiding behind Jax, "hi," she muttered. She stood on her tippy toes to reach Jax's ear and whispered, "can we hurry up? I am hungry and you need to find something to help Isabella."
"Oh yeah, hey bud mind hurrying up? I am kinda in a rush," Jax told him.
"Yeah sure, here ya go, have a nice day, Nat nice to meet you," he said waving, then helping the next customer.
When they got back to Cal's house Natalie sat down and started eating. Jax was pasting back and forth around the room.
"What's wrong?" Natalie asked.
"I need to find something to make Isabella better and faster." Jax told her in a worried voice.
Natalie murmured , "Maybe go to the witches for help?"
"Wait Nat, that's a good idea but dangerous," Jax said, "We should go tell Cal before we do it, come on!" He said having a bit of hope.
"Wait, I am coming?" Natalie asked, confused.
"Yeah it's your idea!" Jax yelled as he was already outside running to the cave.
"Wait!" Natalie said, jumping up from her seat and running after him.
"You're slow," Jax said.
"No, you're just a wolf. You are naturally fast," Natalie said out of breath.
"Ok when we go in one rule you must follow." Jax said.
"What is it?" Natalie asked.
"Stay near me and hold my hand, this way you can't get touched by the others in there," he told her. "Also we are only going to talk to Cal, other than that don't say a word."
Natalie nodded her head, "got it," she said as she got close to him and he grabbed her hand and walked in.
