His gaze then shifted to a cute little paper ring lying in the box. Picking it up, he stared at it, deep in thought, memories flooding back.

//Flashbacks//

Rayan was just about to enter his classroom when he heard a tiny, excited voice from behind.

*"RAYUUUUU!"*

He stopped in his tracks, turning just outside the door. There she was, a little girl with a huge smile, running towards him—Anaya. Her small pigtails bounced with every step.

Rayan grinned, *"Hi Aniii."*

Anaya, panting slightly from her run, beamed up at him. *"Rayuuu, guess what! Mai tumhare liye kya bana ke layi hun!"*

With a playful, curious smile, Rayan asked, *"Kyaaaa?"*

Anaya's eyes sparkled with excitement. *"Ankhein band kro apni!"* she ordered.

Rayan, always ready to play along with her little games, closed his eyes obediently. He heard her shuffle as she brought her tiny fists in front of him.

*"Ab ankhein kholo aur choose kro isme se,"* she instructed, holding her fists out for him to pick.

Rayan opened his eyes, pretending to think hard, and then pointed to her right hand.

Anaya's face fell into an exaggerated pout. *"Ooo, tumhe kaise pata ke isme hai?"*

Rayan chuckled, *"Kyunke tumhe right hand lucky lagta hai."*

Anaya's frown quickly turned into a wide smile. She slowly opened her right hand, revealing a small, carefully folded paper ring.

*"Dekho, mai tumhare liye promise ring bana ke ayi hun!"* she exclaimed proudly.

Rayan's face lit up as he looked at the ring. *"Par kis liye?"* he asked, genuinely curious.

Anaya took his hand in hers, carefully sliding the oversized paper ring onto his two fingers. Her expression turned serious, almost as if she was reciting an important vow.

*"Woh is liye ke tum promise kro ke tum kabhi bhi, kahin bhi jao, humesha mere paas hi aoge,"* she said earnestly.

Rayan, touched by the innocence of the moment, nodded solemnly. *"Okay..."*

Just then, the memory faded as reality called him back.

*"Rayan!"* his mom's voice echoed from downstairs, pulling him out of his thoughts.

*"Come downstairs, beta!"* she called again, louder this time.

Rayan blinked, coming back to the present. *"Okay, Mom,"* he replied, gently setting the ring and the photo back in the box, as he stood up to leave the room.
