LAUREN:
*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*

for as long as i have known chris, he's never been one to focus on anything else but hockey, especially when it's game time.

his eyes are always locked on the puck at all times. his mind is constantly circling around the thoughts of what comes next in the playbook. his hands are firmly gripped onto his stick. every. game.

but today? today is different.

he's not focusing on hockey. he's focusing me. well, not even me, he's focusing on beau, talking to me.

"lauren?" i overhear from over my shoulder.

"yes?" i ask frantic

"what the fuck was that?" ella asks bluntly

"what the fuck was what ella?"

"the glass bang, the comment chris made to the dude eyeballing you right now with a big smile on his face... i dunno." she adds

slowly glancing over at beau from still sitting in the penalty box, his eyes sparkle.

his lips mouth the words "hi" which i instantly feel my cheeks turn a bright red.

"hi" i mouth back

his kind eyes wink softly at me as a smirk tugs the corner of his lips, "see me after the game" he shouts sending my hands to sweat and my smile turning bigger

i fight with myself but force myself to turn my attention back to the game.

the puck slides rapidly across the ice, barely allowing my eyes to keep up with it. the puck is slid to ethan then to chris as chris skates quickly towards the goal.

SCORE. the puck flew directly into the goal.

chris scored. thank god. maybe now he won't have a giant stick up his ass anymore.

the crowd roars as the ground beneath us rumbles. just like an earthquake, only a man made one, by the stupid hockey fans at LAU.

chris, being his cocky bitch ass he is, skates around, smiling ear to ear holding his right arm up in the air as the cheers become louder and more intense.

but i can't even say it's annoying, because it's not. it actually quite hot.

the timer on the scoreboard ends as beau finally skates back out.

my secret hook up vs a guy i'm crushing on. what could go wrong? oh i know, a lot.

the clock ticks down to five seconds left in the game. the game is tied. griffin has the puck.

i watch as the clock ticks faster and faster as griffin chucks the puck to matt, allowing matt to score the winning goal.

students and the rest of the LAU benchwarmers flood onto the ice to celebrate the first victory of this so called 'shit week' with the hockey team.
