Author's pov :The grand hall was adorned with lanterns and festive banners, their golden light reflecting off the polished floors. Laughter and chatter filled the air as the guests mingled, celebrating Wei Wuxian’s return and restored memories. The long table was laden with an array of delicious dishes, and a band played lively tunes in the corner.
Wei Wuxian, now with his memories fully restored, was surrounded by his friends and family. Lan Wangji stood close by, his hand gently resting on Wei Wuxian’s back. Yuan, Jin Ling, and Jingyi flitted about, their faces radiant with happiness. Lan Xichen and Lan Qiren were engaged in a polite conversation nearby, though the latter’s expression was a mix of grumpiness and reluctant joy.
Wei Wuxian raised his glass, his eyes sparkling. “To friends, family, and new beginnings!”
“Cheers!” echoed through the hall as everyone raised their glasses in unison.
Lan Qiren interrupted with his usual grumpiness "Hmph. Celebrations or not, we still have responsibilities. But it’s good to see Wei Wuxian back, even if it means dealing with all this noise."
Lan Xichen approached Lan Qiren, trying to coax a smile out of his usually grumpy uncle. “Come on, Uncle Lan. Join us. Just for tonight?”
Lan Qiren grumbled, but a glimmer of amusement flickered in his eyes. “I suppose one glass won’t hurt.”
Meanwhile, Jiang Cheng stood off to the side, his arms crossed and a scowl on his face. He watched the festivities with a mixture of skepticism and frustration. Wei Wuxian approached him, his expression softening.

The hall was alive with celebration when Wei Wuxian, curious, approached Lan Wangji and the others. "Has anyone seen Xiao Xingchen?" he asked, his brows furrowing with concern. "I haven’t seen him in a few minutes."
Before anyone could respond, the hall's atmosphere shifted as a hush fell over the crowd. Everyone’s gaze turned toward the entrance, where Xue Yang stood, his presence stark against the vibrant festivity. Next to him, Xiao Xingchen looked weary but resolute.
Wei Wuxian’s eyes widened in shock. "Xue Yang?"
Lan Xichen stepped forward, his expression serious. "It’s a long story. Please, allow us to explain."
Xue Yang took a step forward, his usual bravado absent, replaced by a look of deep remorse. "I know I have no right to be here," he began, his voice low and hesitant. "But I needed to make amends."
Xiao Xingchen, standing beside him, nodded. "Xue Yang came to apologize for his past actions. We’ve had a difficult conversation, and he’s expressed genuine regret."
Xue Yang continued, his eyes filled with sincerity. "I was wrong. I hurt people, including your family, Wei Wuxian. I was driven by anger and revenge, but I've come to understand the pain I caused. I wanted to make it right."
Xiao Xingchen’s eyes met Wei Wuxian’s with a mixture of pain and forgiveness. "I accepted his apology. We have a complicated history, but I believe in giving people a chance for redemption."
Jiang Cheng, who had been silently observing, finally spoke up. "So, what does this mean for us? Is he to be trusted now?"
Lan Xichen nodded. "It’s a matter of time and actions. Xue Yang’s apology is a step, but it will take time for trust to be rebuilt."
Xue Yang, looking at the gathered family, bowed deeply. "I understand that trust must be earned. I am willing to work toward that, however long it takes."
The room remained quiet for a moment, as everyone absorbed the gravity of the situation. Then, Lan Qiren spoke, his voice calm but firm. "We will give you the opportunity to prove yourself. But remember, actions speak louder than words."
The hall buzzed with whispers and the clinking of glasses as everyone tried to process the unexpected arrival of Xue Yang. Xiao Xingchen stepped forward, his voice calm but carrying an undeniable note of resolution.
“Before we go any further,” Xiao Xingchen began, drawing the attention of the room, “there’s something I need to share. Xue Yang and I have been together for the past few days.”
A collective gasp swept through the gathering. Lan Xichen raised an eyebrow, while Lan Qiren looked even grumpier than usual.
Wei Wuxian’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Well, this is certainly a twist. To think that Xue Yang was hiding something as significant as a relationship with my uncle.”
Jiang Cheng grumbled. “So, that’s why you were so chummy. I guess I should have known there was something more to it.”
Lan Qiren, still grumbling but less severe, added, “Just remember, if there’s any trouble, you’ll have me to answer to.”
Wei Wuxian winked at Xue Yang and Xiao Xingchen. “Looks like you’ve got quite the family to deal with now. Welcome to the chaos.”
The mood lightened as everyone began to relax, the initial shock giving way to acceptance. The evening continued with a new dynamic, as the family adjusted to the unexpected development, but with an undercurrent of playful banter and camaraderie.
The celebration and the story of their lives continued, a testament to the resilience of the power of love and redemption.
