"Neil se to kuch pata nhi chala" Ab dj se pooch ke dekhu vo batayega? "she thought to herself.
It was night time so a few hours back dj and his mother must be drinking as usual so it means he must be drunk right now ,she figured.

Ruhi was out of town so he was alone in his room she directly went there, and knocked, " Dj! Dj! " In low voice cause she didn't wanna grab the attention of others. Soon enough he opened the door, lucky for her he was very drunk. "Uhh hi dj " she waved at him. "Tum yaha kaise? Muj mujhe maar maarne aayi ho? "..
" Huh? Nahi nahi dekho koi hatiyaar bhi nahi hai"showed her empty hands.
"Hmm "
"Mai aau andar? " she said with hesitation .
"Aao".
She sighed. He closed the door. " Kya kaam hai hai, ab kya chahiye tumhe sab to mil hi raha tumhe"he asked .
"Matlab? " She thought he didn't care about her getting a promotion but it seems like he did.
"Matlab! " He smirked.
"Matlab ye yu vika, promotion bhi tumhe mila pyar bhi tumhe mila mujhe kya mila bss hopes aur kuch nahi"
"Pyar?mujhe to pata bhi nahi vo bhi mujhse-" she asked (he knows about Neil too she thought)

"-Bachpan se jaanta hu usse agar pyar nahi karta to tumhe aag se kyu bachaya?" Digvijay said.
"Aag se usne mujhe? " She thought to herself.
"Jyada soch mat uss fateechar kartik ne nahi bachaya tha tumhe"he said.

"Iss baare mai baad mai sochna abhi jo karne aayi hai vo kar " She motivated herself.
"Tum aur Neil bohot achhe dost the? "
"Hmmmm the na " He said with a smirk.
"To phir kya hua jo -"
"Tumhare boyfriend ne nahi bataya tumhe yuviika? " he taunted.

Someone knocked on the door , dj said come in, it was Dhanraj. Dj was amused seeing him.
"Dad! Aap yaha kaisee? "
"Kyun ek baap apne bete se milne nahi aa sakta?" Dhanraj said.
"Aap mere dad ho? Nahi kyunki shaam tak to aap mere boss the, anyway.. " Dj replied.
Yuvika was feeling awkward standing between and left the room.
After coming out the room she sighed, "sachhi ye log bahar jaise dikhte hai vaise bilkul nahi hai".

Next day, " Ab to Neil ko batana hi hoga "yuvika decided. They used meet in the common cafe near both of their offices during lunch break.
" Neil mujhe ye nayi zimmedaari mili to hai par kya isse pura kar paungi pichli baar jab Phoenix-"
"Tab tum ready nahi thi itni badi zimmedaari lene ke liye lekin ab ho! " he immediately replied.
"Parr galti to thi na meri mujhe cross check karna chahiye tha- " then looked at him and said, "tum aaye the kya vaha jab - aag lagi thi" asked in low voice,
"Matlab- maine to kaha tha na kuch kaam hai to-" started blabbering random stuff.
She kept her hand on his hand and said "mujhe pata hai mujhe aag se kartik ne nahi tumne bachaya"

He didn't know what to say.

After a long pause Yuvika sighed, "tum meri life ke baare mai har chhoti chiz jaante ho, aur mai tumhare life ke bade bade kisse tak nahi jaanti? "" Trust nahi karte kya tum mujh par? "
"Aisa nahi hai yuvika! ", he immediately yelled out.
Yuvika smiled," To batao Dj aur tumhari dosti kaise tuti"
He smiled and said, "pakki mahajan banti ja rahi ho tum! ".

" Neil! ",Yuvika exclaimed. Neil sighed and asked her why she suddenly wanted to know about his past, she then showed him the picture that Isha shared with her the picture of Neil, Dj, Kunal. " Ye kunal ke pet mai ek baat nahi tikti"Neil said. "Parr itna chupane jaisa kya hai isme? " Yuvika asked curiously.
"Criminal hai vo virasat mai jo mila hai usse ye qualities" Neil coldly said and further said, "College ke teen kaise gaye pata hi nahi chala, college mai kuch bhi ho it was definite ki vo hum ne hi kiya hai, aur hume koi kuch keh bhi nahi sakta tha-"
"Perks of Dj being a Mahajan i guess?" Yuvika interrupted.
"Actually no! ham university toppers the, so even if we did something it was overlooked by the fact we were doing well for the college's overall reputation"
"Hmm, to agar sab badhiya chal raha tha to jhagda kaha hua? "
"Ek sec kisne kaha jhagda hua -"Neil asked.
" Matlab! Agar jhagda nahi hua to tum dono ab aise jhagadte kyu ho jab bhi milte ho? "Yuvika asked.

Neil laughed at her question.
"Dj ki girlfriend thi - kya naam tha uska haan- Simone"
"Simone! " Yuvika was shocked kya ye vahi hai she thought to herself.
"Haan- vo tum Mahajans ki photographer hai na"
"Omg" was all Yuvika could say.
"Abb batao ge ki hua kya !? "She was restless and losing her remaining patience.

" Bet lagi thi "he answered.
" BET!?!kis chiz ki aur tum jeet gaye isliye Dj -"yuvika asked curiously and kept talking about how Dj cannot ever take defeat in any form.
"Ruk ruk haara mai tha bet ! " Neil interrupted her venting.
"WHATT! Ho hi nahi sakta" she said.
"Itna confidence" Neil teased her.
Yuvika blushed and said, "tumpar to khud se bhi jyada confidence hai , to tum ye batao jaan bujh ke kyu
haare? "
"Ye sawal ki vajah se hi to vo mujhse naaraz hai.. " Neil said.

"Dj you need to patch things up with Neil " Gargi said while sipping wine.
"What? Ab ye kyu karu mai? " Dj asked being agitated.
"Tum logo ki koi to bet lagi thi if I remember correct right? " Gargi asked.
"Haaan" he said getting irritated with the question.
"I don't care kis baat pe bet lagi thi ya kon jeeta kon haara , you just need to end this and soon otherwise -" Gargi said in a serious tone.

Yuvika and Neil left the cafe and completed their respective work then went towards their cars for getting home.

"Hello sisterr" Dj came from behind greeting Yuvika.
"Dj? " Yuvika turned around surprised as Dj was speaking to her near the office premises.
"Bhaiyaa" she replied. He fake smiled and then looked at Neil who was standing near his car's door he looked a bit confused.
Dj said, "Hello sister's boyfriend" and waved at him.
Neil ignored his comment on their relationship and waved back.
"I want to spend time with you two, to kahin chale? " Dj asked.
Neil and Yuvika both were confused with his behavior and looked at each other to find a common answer.

Kunal playing with knives talking with Isha while Neil was cooking something in the kitchen and Yuvika helping him.
Isha signalled Kunal to move towards living room to give them both space, he agreed.
"Iss baar kya bana rahe ho, Mr. Bhoot? " Yuvika asked in a teasing tone.
"Hmm, iss baar bann rahi hai bhootiya biryani" while adding masalas to the pan.
"Mai kuch help karu? " she asked.
"Hmm, vo board lo aur kuch onions cut karo" he said in a authorative tone. She did as he said, soon enough it was ready to serve. They both arranged the dishes and called Isha and Kunal for dinner.
"Hmm khushboo to bohot mast aa rahi hai" Isha said to which Kunal added, "khaane mai to aur mast hogi"complimenting Neil.

They sat to have dinner, " To Neil bet kis baat pe lagi thi" Isha asked. Neil looked at Yuvika who was busy eating and ignoring his looks.
"Ab di ko kya dekh rahe ho, hamne bhi kuch research kari hai aap ke upar" she said bragging.
He fake coughed and Kunal offered him water, he gave a side eye to him. "Ab bata na kis baat ki bet thi? " Kunal asked.

"Typical college politics tha aur kuch nahi" Neil said.
He finally revealed the bet as three of them would definitely keep pestering him if doesn't tell them now, he explained, the bet was of two things-first being if Dj is able to convince his family about marrying Simone that's where I betted that he would be able to and as you all can see I lost, and second being college competition Dj- to gain recognition in the eyes of his Dadababu that he is capable participated, and to make me also participate he put a bet again, long story short many illegal stuff happened till the last round and led to many fights between us, on the day of final decision of who won , Bhanu pratap himself came to our college .
"kunal you don't remember this?", kunal replied," Mai apne ghar gaya tha tab"he replied.

And then while the counting was going on I was ahead with a few number and the secret happiness behind Bhanu pratap's face was clearly visible which Dj didn't seem to notice.

I at that moment figured if I lose today I win against the Mighty Mahajan because of whom my father went to jail. And I breached the numbers without anyone noticing and Dj won the second bet and the competition, but even he was not satisfied with the win as he knew something was wrong. And our 'friendship' broke forever that day. Heck even my father didn't understand what I did or why I did it.

Kunal, Isha, Yuvika were listening very carefully to him.
