"Well... I saw Troy going out late of the building earlier."

Alex calmly and nonchalantly said that made everyone quiet and drew all eyes to Troy, I and Ronnie both exchanged looks while frowning feeling the same bad premonition on what Alex is implying.

"What are you trying to say? That I stole it!"

Troy hissed at him with a vein throbbed in his forehead while glaring at Alex seemingly ready to throw hands on the rich kid anymore now but luckily I grabbed hid shoulder to stop him.

We know Troy, he would never do such a thing, he's poor yes but he's not a thief.

"Well, I didn't say that you STOLE it, I'm just saying that you were suspiciously late for the flag ceremony earlier and everyone was in the right line... except you."

Alex crosses his arms and looks away slightly while the corners of his lips slightly lift into a playful fox-like smile which Troy almost punched if it wasn't for Ronnie and I containing him from doing so.

"Besides, isn't your family struggling financially? I heard your sister is very sick but your parents didn't have enough money to treat her so... I don't want to be judgmental or anything but didn't that be a good reason to do such a thing?"

The more whispers grew louder and the accusations mounted the more my eyes turned cold, slightly nerve vine showed in my forehead and I'm just restraining myself too from Punching Alex.

"That's enough Alex."

with a firm tone on my voice trying to control my temper causing Alex to frown seemingly displeased with the tone of my voice.

I look at Troy as I can feel his shoulders slightly shaking under the palm of my hand and the corners of his eyes are slightly turning reddish as the whispers get louder.

"I mean, Alex does have a point.."

"Did he really do that? How shameful."

"Well, Troy can't even pay the ₱50 PTA so..."

"I saw Troy's dad selling fish balls outside the school to provide for his family so it's no wonder he'll do that."

"I heard his brother was arrested for stealing too."

Hearing those familiar words snapped something inside Troy and tears started forming on his eyes as he started frantically struggling against our hold as if wanting to attack that person who said those words.

"I DIDN'T STEAL IT! I'M NOT A THIEF!"

he yelled on top of his longs that it drowned out the noises and whispers in the room and everyone froze for a split second both in shock and fear of his sudden outburst that they all backed away.

"Ok, that's enough everyone! we can't just jump to conclusions like this, how about we look at each other's backpack to see who really stole it."

Ma'am Devon, with a frown and a stern firm voice calmed everyone. Her eyes, however, never left Troy.

"Pres, I need you to check his bag please"

she ordered the class president, her voice sharp as a knife with no hesitation Anna approached Troy's desk taking his open bag and poured out all the things inside

CLING!

A soft sound echoed through the room, startling everyone. A golden bracelet tumbled out of the bag landing on the floor with a clatter along with the jumble of notebooks and pens that had spilled out with it.

Ma'am Devon slowly picks up her missing bracelet while Troy's face goes pale faster than the speed of light. Ma'am Devon with a calm tone on her voice as she slowly looks at Troy.
