Nam approached Freen, who was sitting next to Becky's hospital bed.
"How is she?" she asked
"Still unconscious, but the doctors expect that it can't take too long now."
"That's good. Becca is a tough one" Nam said, smiling
"Well, she is ArmSTRONG after all." Freen put in, trying to lift the down mood a bit.
Nam offered Freen a cup and seated down beside her. Freen accepted it.
"It's your favorite." Nam commented with a timid voice. "Dark roast with just a dash of milk and a pinch of sugar."
"Thanks." Freen grimly replied. "But I can't even think about drinking now. Sorry" She continued, placing her cup on the bedside table.
"Don't be."
They both sat in silence, watching Becky breathing in and breathing out. It really shouldn't take too long now before she would wake up. Nam drank her coffee silently, while Freen continued to brush Becky's fringe to the side.
Olivia was sleeping on the small bed, in the corner of the hospital room. Sarah, Freen's mother, suggested to take Olivia home, but Freen denied her, reasoning it with the fact that she almost lost her daughter and she wanted her to be near her.
It was stressful day, day filled with insecurity and hope. Day with anxiety and with a bit of happiness, because no one died. It was emotional, that's for sure and they had lack of sleep. So it didn't take too long before Freen's body gave up the fight and let herself drift into a slumber.
But it was not a very long nap, because Freen woke up 30 minutes later, finding herself still holding Becky's unconcious hand. She sighed. Turning her head to her daughter, she stood up, walking towards the still sleeping girl. She smiled, kissing the girl's forehead.
As much as she didn't want to leave Becky and Livie, she needed to eat. She was already feeling nauseous, she needed to take care of her still unborn child. So she walked out of the room, noticing Nam, who was talking to the doctor.
She neared her as soon as the doctor left.
"Nam, can you, please be with them for a while, i really need to eat something" she said in a pleading voice
"I could have brought you something, silly" Nam answered
"It's okay, i need some alone time anyway" Freen smiiled.
Nam nodding understandingly, patting Freen's head.
Freen left as soon as Nam went to the hospital room. She went to the cafeteria, ordered herself a sandwich and a coffee, but she couldn't finish them, due to the lack of appetite.
After, she went for a little walk across the hospital garden, and 20 minutes later she finally decided to walk back to Becky and her daughter. She was already at the hall when she heard Nam
"Freen" she heard Nam's cheerful voice "Becky's awake, and she wanted to see, i quott 'my gorgeous girlfriend' " she grinned, immitating Becky.
Freen ran to the room, seeing the adorable scene: Olivia hugging Becky tightly, kissing her cheeks nonstop. She noticed Becky hissed from her shoulder pain, but nonthless said nothing, laughing and kissing Livie back. Freen was silently witnessing the bond between her daughter and girlfriend.
"Mommy, look, mommy's awake" Olivia exclaimed, this was the first time, that Livie said 'mommy' instead of 'mommy Becca".
Seeing Freen, a wide smile spread across Becky's angelic face.
