"This is enough conversation for tonight." I pushed him off me, reluctantly he followed my hand movements,if he wants my cooperation then he will need to earn it, but for now I am the one who will seek the night when he will pass his judgement.
"We shall deliver the verdict, no? The innocents await your judgement. Oh, sorry, that's what I am needed for, after all the stars and the power of the ocean lies inside me now." I gave him a subtle smirk and he returned with a scoff, his canines are enough to sink inside my neck and kill if he wishes to but he won't not unless he manages to retrieve all this power for himself.
"I believe you're mistaken." he whispered it under his breath, possibly because he didn't want to make me hear it. I kept walking down the hallways, behind me he strutted with heavy footsteps, I could hear the echoes of voices in the hallways, there were many, those who had come to witness the court where the guilty will be punished. The moment the guards saw us, their posture straightened, gun clutched around their hips and I noticed that they weren't royal guards who served the king once, instead replaced by some strangers, who I don't know or had a say in. I decide that neuvillette had a portion of power drawn from me to notice their intentions before appointing them, where they can gain access to something vulnerable like royal secrets easily.
Focus on the court and judgement.
I know they will notice my eyes, the whole audience of the fontaine will witness my eyes and they will realise that I am the very person who killed the king and returned from the ocean with their supposed to be sons and daughters or even fathers and mothers, just not mine though. The King was not true blood of fontaine, that much is known yet the crown never wavered at his will. The crown answers only to the fontaine royal blood. He was actually the husband of the blood, so I guess, that must counts and the nobles and merchants and common folk has known as much, just not the folk near the shores, information about the royals has never been there because they were the soon-to-be dead people, ineligible to have any contact within the walls.
The court grows louder when I stepped into it, there were merchants chained at the very beyond in front of the throne, coming forward were the royals and very first in the front was raphael, pale and shoulder trembling yet his head was high as he met my gaze from down. The voices turned quieter yet they didn't completely disappear. My senses were overwhelmed with rage, misery, hatred and fear. Every person in this court was a person of fontaine, the one who were chained after years of torment they put on the innocent, but I could see the hints of sparkle in the eyes of people now. They found hope and faith, now I need to ignite it in their hearts, but their eyes were on the man beside me, he was taller and occupied the attention in the room.
In the thousands of people this court held, there were no one who held my gaze too long, I might me the one who saved them but in their eyes he held the authority. He was the one to decide because that was what the original role of hydro dragon of this land - to be the embodiment of justice and court laws.
Oh, how must it feel to cast aside the one who saved your life at their own and to be offered nothing but a mere glance of acknowledgment.
