Alternative title: looking for a needle in a haystack would be easier

"Ok! Everyone! Calm down!"

Things escalated WAY too quickly and WAY too much. Pattadol had her hands in her hair, pacing back and fort like a worried parent who's car just stopped working in the middle of their 7 hour road trip. Both Otta and Lycion had their arms crossed with a troubled expression painted on their face.

Fleki pursed her lips, holding her hands over the back of her head and rocking on her heels while letting her gaze search around aimlessly. By her side Cithis held an uncharacteristically worried expression as she put an hand over her cheek.

At your words the various elves turned their head in your direction, Pattadol even stopped her worry-wandering, yet her face held nothing but pure horror and panic. "We have to find captain Mithrun!" She shouted, grabbing your arms with her hands and shaking you–pretty hard– "Y-Yea! We are gonna find him!" You gently placed an hand over her shoulder, patting it.

Damn, if even the calm level head of the group is freaking out so much then it means that either Mithrun is one of the most important elves (we are talking top notch tier, like top of the piramid scale here) or he will get himself in so much trouble that the whole mall is at risk of exploding.

You are not sure which one would be the best situation.

"I doubt he got lost in the parking lot, there might be a lot of cars but it's pretty empty right now." You pointed out, keeping patting the back of a poor stressed out Pattadol. "So all that remains is the mall itself" Sure, having your search limited to just the area inside the mall is better than having to search for that elf all over the city, but it's still not an easy thing! With three floors and over fifty stores in its entirety, finding Mithrun will be impossible, even with six people. And then that wasn't the only problem.

"We also need to buy you some clothes" that was the original thing you came here for after all. It was ten in the morning and you were hoping to be home before noon "Can't we leave that out until we find the captain?" Otta asked raising an eyebrow while next to you you could see Pattadol nodding vigorously out of the corner of your eye.

Sighing you scratched the back of your neck "I swear if I could I would but trust me when I say this, you guy stick out like a sore thumb. If you wanna stay out in the open you gotta blend in. People gonna start asking questions and–yeah well we've talked about this before"

You could feel Pattadol going on another breakdown, Fleki awkwardly passed her a paper bag which the blonde elf quickly took and started breathing heavily inside it. "We can do a compromise, no need to panic" immediately the vice captain stopped her dramatic display, her blonde hair already a mess, she was willing to listen.

"I know I'll regret this bitterly but what do you say we split into two groups? One can think about buying all the basic necessities while the other searches for Mithrun?" You didn't like the idea of leaving a couple of elves from another dimension running around a world they don't know. You gave them the basics but you weren't sure it was enough to not raise suspicions. "Ohhh~ nice idea. Who's going to volunteer to go look for the captain then?" Lycion smirked as he placed his forearm on Fleki's head, using her short stature as a support.

The blonde elf was too busy examining her colorful shirt to care.

"ME! ME! I have to make sure the captain is okay!" Pattadol shouted and you patted her back awkwardly, nodding "Yea, I had a suspicion that you would want to come. Cithis, for obvious reasons you will be in charge of the clothing team" you pointed your finger at her and she gave you a big smile "What an honor"
