She took in a deep breath as she looked at herself in the mirror. She wore a thin long sleeve cotton shirt with white buttons covered in white milky fabric. Her high rise black skirt went all the way up to her belly button. Her stockings were a mesh black material and she wore her matte black ballet flats.

Her hair flowed down to her waist, her natural waves looking a little more defined and thick. Her doll like round eyes shined a vibrant green. Her face was short and round making her appear younger than she was. She was still carded at every bar she walked into.

She actually did her makeup today. Keeping it light and airy with a soft brown eyeshadow and a small winged liner.

"Well, don't you look cute"

Franny whipped around, faced with a smirking Beth standing in the bathroom doorway.

"Shut up" Franny said, rolling her eyes as she pushed past her.

Beth followed behind her with a smirk plastered on her lips.

"I'm just saying you sure are putting in an effort for this guy" Beth teased.

"I am not" Franny protested, grabbing a black leather jacket off of the kitchen counter as she headed towards the door.

"You did your makeup today" Beth said, dangling the car keys in her hand.

"I always do my makeup before going out" Franny said, opening up their front door.

"Okay" Beth shrugged, smiling hard.

Franny rolled her eyes and shoved her hands into her jacket pocket as Beth locked the door. The two girls headed down an old set of stairs.

Their apartment building consisted only of four apartments. It was originally an Italian farmer's house but his children converted it into small one bedroom apartments.

The girls headed to their car. Their shiny blue vehicle was equally shared by the two. Beth's father had offered to buy them one but only if he could insert a tracking device onto it. Not wanting to constantly get calls and questions about their whereabouts. The girls declined and had to save up in order to buy one for themselves.

"Let's get this day over with already" Beth groaned, climbing into the driver's seat.

"That's the spirit" Franny mocked.

The two girls headed down the small road, avoiding the occasional pot hole that they had become accustomed to.

They arrived at their cafe. The early morning sun showing it's beautiful hazy colors as the grass awakened.

They immediately headed in and got to work. Turning their closed sign to an open one.

Customers slowly flooded in, casually enjoying their early morning coffee or breakfast scones. Margret would not be coming in today and that did make Franny feel a tad bit nervous to leave Beth all alone for the night.

Beth was not a bad worker but Franny certainly didn't feel entirely comfortable leaving her to do everything by herself.

"You gonna be okay today?" Franny asked, tightening up her apron.

"Yes, you're not the only one capable of doing things correctly, Fran" Beth groaned, carrying a tray of empty coffee mugs to their sink.

Franny sighed, running a hand through her thick hair. She looked through the kitchen's pass through window as she stared out at the horizon.

The day felt like it was dragging on and on. Though she wasn't sure this was a bad thing.

She felt excited for her date but the pit in her stomach felt slightly nauseous.
