Y/n stared at their journal with annoyance; it was one of those journals that had a pin number to unlock it. Y/n wouldn't have minded it if the journal didn't play the same song louder than a fire alarm every time it was unlocked, it was the only one they had right now but Y/n was definitely going to put those twenty dollar bucks to good use soon.

Putting the numbers in and throwing their pillow over the speaker to drown out the song, unfortunately for them, the sound was still clear as day when the infinity song ended they turned to a new page writing different ways to get down from a tall tree because you can't always rely on someone to catch you every time.

Y/n had a habit of writing worse-case scenarios and a way to get out of it, though a lot of their past foster homes hated it when they did it, saying it encouraged paranoia. Y/n had no idea what that meant and didn't understand how it was a bad thing.

Is it wired to have a plan of who would most likely start a virus and jot down ways to escape the infected in any room of the orphanage? ... Maybe, but hey, guess who is going to survive the apocalypse?

Not their old foster parents that's for sure.

When Y/n finished the journal their mind wandered off to the kids Chilli told them about. 'Maybe I should plan something else for tomorrow. Y/n thought. Not sure if they could do magic tricks for hours.

But then another question came to mind. 'What would they even want to do, were they girly girls or the opposite?' After a bit of thinking Y/n chose a game they were pretty sure no kid could resist.

Although they would have to use their twenty to get the things they needed to make the game, they should still have some money left. Y/n dashed around the orphanage looking for their favorite care worker, not seeing her anywhere Y/n began to resemble a kicked puppy as they walked around with their tail dragging on the floor.

"Don't let your tail drag Y/n, and smile a little would you?" One of the caretaker workers scolded. Y/n crossed their arms; they never liked the man he was always so bossy over the smallest of things.

"I can't find Valentina, have you seen her?" They mumbled, keeping their eyes on the floor.

Y/n heard a sigh of annoyance escape the man. "Stop hovering around Valentina all the time, there are other adults you can talk to leave the poor girl alone."

Y/n began to scowl, knowing every time they would pull the. "Leave Valentina alone there are other adults in the room." Card and Y/n said what they needed, the care workers would just brush off what Y/n asked for as unimportant. "I wouldn't hover around Valentina if you guys weren't so mean." Y/n thought as they shoved their tail further on the floor to spite him.

"Y/n none is going to adopt you with that attitude." He committed making Y/n's ears drop a bit but quickly took a more defensive stance. "I don't need to be adopted by anybody anyways because my mom and dad are going to be back soon, and then I won't have to see you ever again." They deluded themself striking out their tongue at the man and walking towards the front door, already putting together a plan to put bugs in his suitcase later.

When stepping outside Y/n's mood changed seeing Valentina leaning on the front gate with a smokey smoke in her mouth. They ran up to Valentina, startling her she quickly threw the smokey smoke and stepped on it. "Hey, didn't I say you can't be around me when I have a smokey smoke out?"

"I know, but I wanted to know if you could take me to the store. I need to get stuff for tomorrow." Y/n asked while waving their twenty. "I don't see why not." Valentina said, digging through her purse for her keys. "Now where did darn keys go this time?"

Y/n smirked, taking off their top hat and waving a hand over it as some confetti sprang out of the hat along with a ring of keys. "Are these your keys ma'am?"
