In the middle of the day, it still rained. Those were the tears of one with the skies who watch the turn of events going down. Though it is calm and barely seen, the darkness remained, holding the past ghosts in chains of their own misery.

The lingering thought of an alliance entices the SaguaroClan leader. Some of the members expresses other thoughts that greatly oppose the alliance, and Fern'flame is one of them. "You can't accept that leader's trust! Who knows what will happen if we follow his lead?" The she-cat stops him from going further out from his den. Her eyes were silently pleading him to listen her reasoning. She never thought this day would come, but she never wanted the clan to fall from grace in the fault of Stone'star's influence.

Ember'star moves his head, wanting to avoid his mate at all costs. "We have no choice; we're living in a hellhole we call as home and yet you want to reject this? We're dying, Fern'flame! Don't be selfish!" He shouts at her face, shoving her away as he exits the den, spreading tension among all of the other warriors who observed them. "No!" The she-cat bats his shoulder, her body blocking his way from moving. "This is a mistake! We DESERVE our independence!" She was now yelling at him, showing her refusal even if some of the warriors intervened. "If you were a real warrior, you'll stand up to him and say no!"

A senior warrior's voice rang between them. "Let the tom do what he wants!" Vulture'glide says. "You're making it worse!"

The others would nod in support, but a few, even the two apprentices turn their head in realization to the problem they are in. Scarcity and diseases, there were no other chances. Ember'star's ear flickers when hearing many cats standing on the outside of their open camp. A silhouette behind a veil of fog resembles of a dark figure with horns and a teethy sneer. The young kits would've thought it was the great dark forest, but seeing the blue eyes was eerily comforting, despite a status given from other clan members. Stone'star stood there with some of his warriors on his side.

"Ah, my good friend." His tilts his head, his eyes never left from staring down at the leader in desperate need. "I believe there is time for the meeting to start, hm? I heard that there was some arguing between you and this beauty right here." He eyes at Fern'flame before turning back to the leader. "But there are many important things we need to discuss, if you don't mind the privacy, my great ally." He glances at the other warriors sitting down and watching him as if he was a creation from the stars itself. Ember'star scoffs, pushing his mate aside. "Let them watch, you'll always do the greater good for us, Stone'star."

"I can't thank you enough, son." He sits down, easing his anxiousness and making himself home. He glances at his warriors began to dig into SaguaroClan's fresh-kill pile and bringing the prey to their leader. Fern'flame was pulled away to avoid any conflict, it was just the two leaders talking their heads off. "You're better than the ones I have." He says, now pulling a hare underneath his head and began feasting on the carcass. Ember'star tilts his head. "You have two sons?" He asks. Stone'star looks at the tom before staring out to the foggy forest. "I disowned my first one, and the other has passed."

The leader changes into a sympathetic expression. "I'm sorry." He bows his head. Stone'star looks at him and began to purr, showing no remorse. "For what? They broke the code, and disrespected StarClan. They're murderous, maybe even worse than dogs." He snorts, lowering his head and continue to chew the body parts of the small hare. For some reason, his lack of empathy puzzles many others and questioning his reason for that. But they all knew one thing, the white tiger was a despicable piece of crow-food.

"You may be thinking of my first-born." Stone'star began, his voice light-hearted and eerily tranquil. "A victim to his mother's spoiling that is that drove him to become the territory's biggest kit. He killed many cats, from twenty to fifty. He's something that we all don't want our future generations to become. Ice'watcher clearly let the dark forest take hold of him, bringing him further away from his true faith." He stops focusing on the prey and was now staring at Ember'star's eyes. "Do you hear what I'm saying? Do you know why we're here?" He asks, his tone icy as the piercing cold to the leader's skin. His words weighed on his thoughts, and his mate's voice fading off as he dives in more of Stone'star's thoughts. Ember'star shook his head, his mind weak from his past stress. "I'm afraid not, I've been completely out of place since I became leader. I-... I don't know what will happen with the future of my clan."

"That's why you have me." He pushes the hare aside, now standing up to sit with his back straight. His shadow looms over Ember'star with his eyes continuing to gaze at him. "I'll protect your clan from ever falling apart just as how my firstborn did. All your problems will be gone in a blink of an eye."

"You don't say!" Ember'star exclaims, cackling. "By now, my clan will be back in their prime in no time!"

"Very well, son." Stone'star tilts his head, examining the tom with a somewhat fatherly feeling that he emitted to those who were vulnerable. Ember'star believed what was best for the clan, but what he didn't hear was Fern'flame's heart breaking. She was helpless. "I'll see your clan in our glorious mountains where there will be an abundance of prey and water. Leave your 'hellhole' to whoever will spread their own evils to. I expect a helping paw out of your members with no hesitation." He glances at the warriors who were watching from their dens. The fear and distrust in their eyes led them knowing what was going to happen. Either good, or bad.

"I'll make sure of it." The leader stands up, his head rising high and mighty as he sees the CavernClan leader standing above him, height wise. "You won't hear a complain out of my warriors, we'll treat your home with respect."

"I expect so." Stone'star nodded, now seeing the prey being discarded near the empty elder's den. Marigold'sage, scowling at him with disapproval. "I'll see you in the next sunrise." He flexes his paws onto the dirt before turning around and leaving. "Don't miss this opportunity."

The camp is silent as the CavernClan warriors left. Ember'star still had much confidence to him being allies.

But what he doesn't know is the secrets being left behind that rooted to one or the other's destruction.

The white tiger observes this from the nearest cliff above.
