What Happens in the Parking Lot, Stays in the Parking Lot

{Virgil} "Janus?! What are you doing here?!"

The thing about kids that miss school is that they don't show up in the bus lane.

{Janus} "What? I can't say hi to my friends?"

He said it confidently, smiling slyly as he spoke. Virgil wished he could believe it.

{Virgil} "What's the real reason?"

Jan's smile dropped the second the words came out of his mouth.

{Janus} "I-I just... I can't take their shit anymore. I was wondering if I walked home with you would your mom let me stay over for a bit?"

{Virgil} "Of course you can come over. Wanna invite Remus?"

Jan's face lit up instantly, though he tried to stay mellow.

{Janus} "That sounds good. Shall we start walking?"

{Virgil} "Shall? What is up with you today?"

{Janus} "Do you wanna wait around or do you wanna leave now?"

{Virgil} "Jeez, you don't have to be snappy. Yeah we can head on."

The two headed towards the back gate of the school, it was the one gate that couldn't lock, so the three friends used it to ditch every once in a while.

{???} "VIRGIL WAIT!! I NEED TO ASK YOU SOMETHING!"

Virgil whipped around to find Emile headed towards the pair, his baggy pink sweater flapping in the wind.

{Emile} "Sorry to hold y'all up, I know you wanna get home, but I need to ask you bout what happened earlier."

{Virgil} "The whole thing with Logan and Patton?"

{Emile} "Yeah, some kids were saying you were with Logan before class?"

{Virgil} "Yeah, happened to be in the same hallway headed to the same class."

{Emile} "Was Logan acting strangely earlier?"

{Virgil} "Besides trying to punch a kid? Nope, nothing abnormal."

{Emile} "Logan punching people is normal, he's hot headed. Did you see him after the fight happened?"

{Virgil} "No, admin took him to the principals and I haven't seen him since."

{Emile} "They must have sent him home... Thanks for telling me."

{Virgil} "No problem, see you at the meeting?"

{Emile} "Won't be there, my mom needs help in her office."

{Virgil} "Oh, see you whenever then."

{Emile} "See ya Verge."

Emile headed back to his car, a little suv the same red as his glasses. Virgil wondered what he was trying to find out.

{Janus} "What was that about?"

{Virgil} "I'm not sure. I wonder why he asked me?"

{Janus} "Probably just wanted to know what had happened."

{Virgil} "That's the thing. He's Logan's cousin, so what ever he wanted to know he could have asked Logan first hand."

{Janus} "I didn't realize they were cousins. I knew they were friends."

{Virgil} "Their moms are sisters."

{Janus} "What meeting were y'all talking about?"

{Virgil} "We're in a psych club at the collage. We've got a meeting this weekend."

{Janus} "Cool I guess. Are we gonna head off to your house now or?"

{Virgil} "Yeah sure. Do you wanna invite Remus over?"

{Janus} "Yeah I'll message him."
