"Hmm, Elbie hasn't been showing up at mealtimes again lately." Victor noticed.
"Yes, I do suppose you're right. The other day I saw him munching on breadcrumbs, and then later a single lettuce leaf." Alfons replied.
"He barely eats, like a baby bird or something. Might be dead up in his room by now."
"Surely you're joking? Don't talk like that, Roger. It's bad luck."
"Well, it's true that Elbie doesn't eat much. And if he keeps it up... Alas, I wouldn't be surprised if he did die." Alfons agrees.
"And you're all fine with that?"
Now that they mention it, Lord Elbert never seems to have much of an appetite...
I always thought it was because he was wrapped up in those gloomy thoughts that seemed to continuously plague him.
I'm worried now...
"If you're that concerned, maybe you should go take care of the baby bird, lil lady."
"Me?!"
"Hmm, Miss [Name] taking care of Elbert...? I think that's-a splendid idea! I'll call it Operation Elbert's Personal Maid: Stuff the Birdy Full~ ★!"
"That's such a devastatingly horrid name all I can do is weep." Alfons snickered.
This has really gotten out of hand...

"...You're going to be my personal maid, [Name]?"
"Yes, that's right."
Victor had dragged Elbert out to the garden, and now he blinked at me in confusion, his long lashes fluttering.
He's so blindingly beautiful... I mean, this isn't the time to be staring at him!
"I'll get you whatever you'd like, Lord Elbert. Please don't hesitate to ask."
I just hastily went along with the plan because I was so worried about him. But since I'm here I might as well do my best to help him.
"I've prepared a nice meal for you. Please, go ahead and eat."
"...You carried it all the way here, just for me?"
I set down the tray filled with a small portion of bread and soup in the gazebo.
"I thought maybe eating out here might stimulate your appetite a bit. You don't have to force yourself to eat if you don't want to, though."
"Even though you went to all this trouble?"
When you're feeling so down you don't even want to eat... having someone else tell you to eat, no matter how well-intentioned they are, can just make it worse. And then it just makes you feel guilty because they're being so kind, but you still don't want to eat.
"I don't want you to worry about anything today. I'll eat anything you have leftover, so really, don't worry about it."
"Hmm.."
I smiled gently at him and he fell silent for a while, deep in thought.
"Maybe if I watch you eating it first, I'll get an appetite."
He looked right at me, murmuring softly.
"Hm? But I only prepared enough for you, Lord Elbert."
"That's okay. Eat my portion. You're mine for today, aren't you? So treat it as a request from your Master."
