THE SOUND OF the ball point pen scratching against the paper was soft as charlotte copied down notes, she'd stayed home from school. a habit she'd began to pick up, though her grades weren't going down hill, just her attendance was. setting the pen down charlotte flattened her skirt, fixing the denim material that had began to creep up her thighs.

her fingers ran through her hair as she scribbled down notes, glancing between the chemistry textbook before back to the lined paper that laid in front of her. her highlighters coloring small sections in the textbook, while shortening the information onto the lined paper.

truthfully writing notes wasn't necessary, they actually encouraged them to just write small comments in the margins of the textbook. though charlotte had learned she obtained information better when she wrote things down.

the back door pushed open, and charlotte glanced up to the boy who smiled at her. he shut the door behind him leaning against the counter. "don't you have school?" he questioned, staring down at the girl who nodded slowly. setting the pen down to look at him. "i had a long night, decided to skip" she mumbled, which wasn't a lie.

after she'd gotten home she'd taken a shower, and scrubbed her body until it was raw and red, and used the hottest water setting to get anything left on her off. "how'd that go?" he questioned softly, listening to her sigh as she picked the pen back up.

"yknow how it normally goes dumping a body" she shrugged, chewing on her bottom lip. eddie nodded slowly at her, "but it's handled. so at least that's over" charlotte told softly, looking between the text book and the notebook, being sure she copied down the correct information.

"what're you working on?" he questioned, looking over the girls shoulder, now standing beside her. "ap chemistry" she told softly, moving the note book so he could see. his eyes racked over the book before looking back to charlotte with a huff of a laugh. "yeah i don't understand any of that" he told, watching her shrug, turning the notebook back to herself.

he sat down beside her, both now sitting on the bar stools, and his eyes studied her. watching her poke her tongue into her cheek as she concentrated, her eyes squinting lightly as she looked between both pages.

"stop staring at me" she mumbled, redness creeping up her neck. glancing out of the corner of her eye to the boy who only smiled in response, leaning into the stool.

"turner stop by?" he questioned softly, watching her shake her head, crossing out a word she misspelled, rewriting it above the line she'd made through it.

"you'd be the first to know if he did" charlotte told softly, flipping to the next page in her textbook. he nodded lightly, still staring at her. the kitchen fell into a comfortable silence, with him simply staring at the girl, all the while she fought off a blush that threatened to work its way up her neck to her cheeks.
