2:50 AM, Los Angeles, the city of angels.

Laughter and lively conversations echoed throughout the bustling club. "Cheers!" A man called out, raising his glass. Shortly after, others followed suit, clashing them together, and a series of clinks were heard. As people drank their worries away, drowning themselves in pleasure, there stood a lone man in the far corner of the club room, a dejected expression plastered on his face.

A man with dyed hair walks up to him, "Hey Thomas, come on, let's go drink. Relax sometimes, dude." he urged, Thomas just sighed and shook his head. "Whatever man, the night's still young." the man said snarkily and left. "Ugh..." Thomas muttered, rubbing his head, "I need a smoke break..."

Stepping outside, he twisted and turned to view the scenery. Towering buildings soaked in neon lights, bustling vehicles from left to right. Pulling out a pack of cigarettes, Thomas plucked one out and lit it, he took a long drag, smoke pouring out of his mouth.

His eyes remained fixated on the buildings, lost in thought. "Wow..." he said. After a few minutes, he decided to head back inside until he heard some suspicious noises in an alleyway. A faint thump caught his attention. 'Probably just a raccoon.' He thought, dismissing it.

Just as he took another step, an awful, squelching sound made him pause. Thomas' curiosity perked, but he knew better. 'Curiosity did kill the cat...' he thought. As he turned to go back inside, he noticed something in the far corner of his eye. Slowly, he turned his head. "What...is that?"

What he saw made his blood run cold.

A deformed figure stood there. Its face was distorted, its body slender and white and it had wings. As Thomas takes a hesitant step closer to the door, eyes never leaving the creature's, a blood-curdling screech pierces his ears. Panicked, he sprinted back into the club, covering his ears, and found a place to hide.

Soon enough the door came crashing down, a blood-bathed creature stormed into the establishment. The club fell silent, everyone gaped at the being's appearance. In an instant, screams erupted filling the air as the creature went on a rampage, ravaging every person before it. Thomas' mind raced, fear and anxiety swallowing him whole 'What if it finds me? Am I going to die? What am I going to do?' He could hear screams of agony as he hid.

Thomas fumbled with his phone, turning the volume down. He was about to call the police when a news alert flashed on his screen. He turned on the captions.

"All around the world, people are reporting sightings of angel-like creatures murdering and consuming mankind. Stay inside, and lock all doors and windows. Do not go outside under any circumstances. I repeat do not-" Thomas turned off his phone, the shock made him freeze.

'Oh god...oh god...ohgod.ohgod.ohgodohgod—' His frantic thoughts were interrupted by a deep, hypnotic voice that rang throughout his mind...

"Mankind has disappointed me."
