"You know you cutting your hair is going to shock Mama Aemma; she is going to hate it," Daeron stated as they approached the queen's chambers while messing up the man's hair, making him glare and fix it.

"I think she'll like it. I like it at this length." Aerys argued, rolling his eyes as they stopped in front of the room greeting the two king's guards.

"I bet a gold dragon the first thing she will say is something about your hair after something about you being home," Daeron challenged, and Aerys thought about it before agreeing just as the knight opened the door to let them in.

"Aerys!" Rhaenyra shouted, jumping out of her chair that was next to her mother, rushing to hug her elder brother, who grinned happy to see his little sister after eleven months away.

"Hi little sister.".

"When did you get back?" Rhaenyra asked while Daeron greeted his little sister Alicent with a tight hug and a kiss on the head.

"Not long at all, we just got home and came straight here," Aerys answered, kissing her head and pulling away from the hug.

"Hi mother," Aerys greeted her with a grin.

"Hi mama Aemma," Daeron greeted with a matching grin.

"Oh, my boys are home. Come over here and give me a hug." Aemma demanded, tearing up, feeling happier than she had felt in the last few months; her boys were home. Both boys listened to her and quickly rushed towards her, hugging her tightly but gently, not wanting to hurt her or the baby she was carrying.

"I am so glad you two are home, and oh my Aerys, you cut your hair."

"Ha suck that pay up, bitch!" Daeron shouted, doing a happy dance, while Aerys groaned and pulled out a gold dragon, handing it to him while Aemma just shook her head.

"You two and your betting," she sighed, rolling her eyes with a fond smile.

"Alicent, it is lovely to see you." Aerys told the girl of his dreams, admiring her with a lovesick smile as he noticed that she was wearing one of the dresses he sent her, which everyone took notice of, Aemma and Daeron shared a knowing smile, whereas Rhaenyra just glared watching as her friend blushed under her brother's gaze.

"My prince" Alicent greeted him quietly and short, confusing him, but he couldn't say anything as she quickly walked up to Daeron, grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the room while speaking.

"Great to see you again. Prince Aerys, good day, my queen!" She pulled her brother out of the room, who was very confused at her actions.

"Did I do something wrong?" Aerys asked, looking at his mother for an answer, but Rhaenyra spoke before she did.

"No you did not, why do you even care?"

"Because I care for her. We grew up together. If I did something to upset her, anger her, or make her feel uncomfortable in her own home, I wish to fix it. What about that is confusing?"

"You did nothing, my sweet boy. Rhaenyra, you need to go. You have the council meeting, and you are already late to it." Aemma cut in assuring her son while sending a stern look to her daughter, which was ignored.

"But Aerys is home," the girl argued.

"And Aerys must speak to his mother before joining the council meeting himself." Aemma countered, and Rhaenyra finally conceded, kissing Aery's cheek close to his lips, making him pull back quickly, watching as she left the room.

"Was that not weird?" He asked his mother, who scoffed, muttering under her breath, "You men are so oblivious."

"Now sit and tell me how you are. I have missed you terribly, my boy."
