"ITS JUST LIKE SEEING HER, FOR THE FIRST TIME, AGAIN."
🪐

We were running through the halls of a prison, sweat streaming down our faces. Donna had been bitten. Allen, her husband, held her as Ben watched his mother in agonizing pain. As we turned the corner, a flashlight shined onto our faces as we dispatched the closest walkers. A boy with a sheriffs hat shot a walker that was behind Sasha,

"You have to leave her!" The boy hollered as Sasha banged another walker's head with her shovel.

"We aren't leaving her, kid!" Sasha yelled giving one final blow to the walker. Tyreese helped Allen lift Donna and her weak body. The kid ushered us into a room just before a cell block. The boy continued in walk into the cell block and lock it behind him.

"Hey! Let us in there." Sasha said walking up to the door, Me and Tyreese walked up beside her.

"Sasha leave him alone." I said to Sasha as she shaked the bars on the door, Tyreese nodded and placed a hand on Sasha's shoulder.

*****about an hour later*****

I've been sitting at a circle table, Donna isn't doing any better. Sasha is yelling every couple of minutes to the boy.

A group of men and two women walked through the room towards the barred door. A man with dark hair and a button up turned to face us, his gun now up towards us. Both sides pointing guns at each other now.

"Who're you." He said letting his eyes look at each member, he loosened his grip on his gun when he noticed me.

"I'm Sasha, that's my brother Tyreese, my sister Riley, Donna and her husband Allen, and their son Ben." Sasha told the man, pointing each of us out. The man's eyes laid on Donna who was sweating.

"I'm Rick, that's Daryl, Glenn, Merle, Maggie, and Michonne." Rick said, each person nodding when he said their name, no one lowering their weapon.

"Wassup with her." Daryl asked in a heavy hillbilly accent, his crossbow still pointing at Tyreese.

"She's bit." I blurted out, Sasha turned her head to look at me, signaling for me to shut up.

"Then why's she still kicking?" Merle asking, rubbing his buzz. He had no gun, just a missing hand.

"We aren't ready." Allen hissed, he was sitting beside Ben and Donna. Leaving me, Tyreese, and Sasha to hold up our guns.

"I think puttin' them guns down would be smart." Daryl said, he was pretty confrontational.

"I see you got kids. Babies are loud. Put 'em down." Sasha said, referring to the boy with the sheriffs hat who was watching from the barred door, and a screaming baby, then giving us an order. We put the guns down, now they were hanging next to our legs.

A woman with short brown hair, and a man with black hair, came over to check us for bites. They just checked me, Tyreese, and Sasha. They didn't want to disturb the final moments of Donna and her family. That's how I knew they were good people.

Donna went silent as the two walked back over to the group. Suddenly we could hear growls, and sobs from Ben. Daryl shot his crossbow into Donna's head, straight into her forehead. Allen screamed and whipped out his gun and pointed it at me.

"THIS IS YOUR FAULT! YOU HELD US BACK!" he screamed, everyone on both sides had guns pointed at him as he sat beside Donna's deceased body.

"Allen, put the gun down." Tyreese said calmly, attempting to keep him distracted and calm.

"Allen, you don't wanna do this." Sasha said lowering her gun a bit.

"If Riley wasn't here, Donna would still be alive!" Allen shouted with his gun still pointed at my head, he rested his finger harder on the trigger, clearly not accepting any persuasion.

The moment he tightened his grip, a gun went off and Allen hit the floor. Sasha had shot him in his heart. Then Ben pulled out his gun, pointing it at Sasha. I panicked and pulled my gun, a pressed the trigger and shot him. I shot someone. A person, a friend. The three lifeless bodies laid in front of me, and I was the cause of two of them. My mouth was agape, and my eyebrows were far down my forehead. I could feel the lump in my throat forming slowly.

*****earlier in the woods*****

"Shit!" I yelled as I tripped over a branch. I had been walking backwards shoving a stick into walkers heads. My hands were sprawled as I reached for my stick that was about three feet away. I was supposed to be keeping Donna and Allen safe, but they weren't helping me do that. A walker toppled onto me. I used my free hand to keep him from digging his teeth into my neck.

Sasha dashed over and stabbed the walker through its head. Two quick squelches. I shoved the walker off of me and jumped back up.

"Run! I found a clearing!" Tyreese shouted, Donna and Allen followed behind us all, then she suddenly screamed. I turned around to see a walker feasting on her shoulder. I grabbed my gun and shot it. Allen screamed as he tugged her away behind Tyreese. I was supposed to protect her, she was defenseless. A broken ankle and a bite. The most serious injuries in an apocalypse.

***** present time *****

The two previous shots had everyone raddled. Me and Sasha had just slaughtered an entire family in seconds. Sasha turned to face the other group, she wiped blood that had shot onto her face.

"It was defense." She assured, as if they hadn't witnessed the entire scene. Rick nodded as he looked down at the mini massacre before him.

"No— No you did what you needed to do for your family." Rick replied, his eyes finally lifting off the red puddle. Daryl walker over to the bodies, stabbing each in the head. He then proceeded to put his hands out in front of us, signaling to hand over our weapons. Me and Tyreese gave ours over slowly, bit willingly. Sasha on the other hand put up a fight. Daryl eventually just snatched the weapons, causing her to roll her eyes and scoff, I nudged her.

"The only reason you guys are still alive, is because of that girl. You two wouldn't be coming near our people if she wasn't here." Rick said pointing me out, I understand why I may be the reason. They have kids they would do anything for, so they must've understood the protectiveness of siblings.

"Follow us." Glenn said, waving his hand in front of us, Daryl and Rick behind us. Lots of people, some younger, some older, all staring at us. A blonde girl holding a baby, a woman with short gray hair, an old guy, and a man with blonde medium length hair.

"This is our group." Rick said proudly, taking in the views of each member.
