ARADHNA SHARMA

"Why did you kill him?"

I chose to ask him the question I shouldn't have. He looked at me with a half smirk and then looked back at the road. Oddly his presence feels calm and safe.

"Don't think about that."

Even tho his tone was calm I could hear the glint of seriousness in it.

"You might end up in jail."

"Funny of you to think that it is possible."

That did scare me. One thing is clear that he is enough powerful to destroy those who come in his way. My heart raced.

"Killing people is a crime."

"You think I don't know that?"

"But you still chose to kill him."

"Aradhna, I had my own reasons."

Now his voice turned too deep and it was a warning for me but I chose to ignore him.

"But it's still a crime."

He took a sharp breath, his grip on the steering wheel tightened.

"Does a man who sells innocent people in some foreign country, tries to kill his team-mates and many more similar deeds deserve to live?"

I was beyond shocked after hearing all that. From our earlier conversation I know that the police might be of no help.

"We are here."

His voice was shockingly shocked. I look at him and unbuckle my seat belt.

"Before you get off let me tell you that I have asked somebody to take care of your Scotty they'll deliver it to your place after its fixed and..."

He paused for a while and spoke.

"Unlock your phone and give it to me."

My eyes widened and I look at him in confusion. But when he gave me a reassuring look I gave it to him.

"You might get in danger because you were there last night. So here's my number make sure you call me if something goes wrong."

He saved his number as Sarthak and gave it back to me.

"Thanks."

"Don't thank me Aradhna."

I got off the car and looked at him, I could see softness in his eyes. I stood there waiting for him to go, but then he spoke.

"Go inside."

I nod and walk inside my place and god knows what got into me that I saw him drive away through the window. I felt a light pang in my heart when I saw his car disappearing.

Would I be able to meet him again?

"Didi!"

I flinched when I heard the sudden voice, I turned around to see Shivantika standing there with my ghungroo in her hands.

Urghhh!!

"Why are my anklets in your hands?"

She gave me a nervous smile and kept it on the table carefully. I shot her a glare and she began explaining.

"Mumma asked me to keep it in your room."

I examine the surrounding and then nod at her. Taking the anklets in my hand I walk upstairs to my room with Shivi following behind.

"Di, where's your scooty?"

"Uh?"

"Scooty kanha hai apki?"

God what shall I tell her now. I can't let her know what actually happened or she along with mumma and papa..... No I don't even want to think about it.

"Kharab ho gayi."

"Ghar kaise ayi aap?"

"Auto."

"Ohh."

She seemed to believe me. That's a good thing. After talking about random things, she walked out of my room and went to hers saying she had assignments to submit tomorrow.

She is very good in studies, but lazy in terms of completing home assignments and projects etc. She used to beg me to complete her project when we were in school. Shivi when asking for favour is so cute that nobody can deny her.

She has a gifted innocent face, but we all know looks can be deceiving. The most normal looking person could actually be a psychopath.

My phone pinged making me come out of thoughts. I glanced at my phone to see a text from mumma on my phone.

We had to leave to a nearby city for some work, would come back tomorrow. Take care sweety, call me if something happens.

I text her a 'have a safe journey' and keep my phone aside. Getting off the bed I keep the things that were scattered around and walk out of the room.

I knock on Shivi's room and she opens the door for me. She was wearing her glasses and had a pen in her hand. I walked in and sat on her bed and she sat on her chair.

"Mummy aur papa kaam se bahar gaye hain, kal ayenge."

"Haan text kiya tha mummy ne."

"Toh mujhe aap kal college chodd dogi?"

"Time pe ready hoke bus se jaa, main nhi choddne vali."

"Diidiiii"

"Nautanki mat kar Shivantika. Meri toh scooty bhi kharab hai."

"Ohh Haan"

We talked about other topics as she wrote. After about fifteen minutes I went to the kitchen to cook dinner for us and she joined me to help shortly.

It was 9:30 p.m while we were done with dinner and other chores.

"Didi, chalo let's go for a walk."

"Abhi?"

"Haan yaar chalo na icecream kha ke ayenge."

"Acha theek hai."

I grab my phone and we walked out after properly locking the house. While we walked I could feel somebody following me. I would have shrugged the thought away if Shivi wouldn't have turned around to check our surroundings. So even she felt that.

We walk towards the shop near our place and the thought of somebody following had disappeared.

"How do you even like the mango flavour?"

Shivi spoke looking at my mango candy. Her face slightly scrunched.

"Just like how you eat this one filled with fruits and nuts."

We burst into laughter and walked out of the shop while eating our icecreams.

It was 10 while we came back home and Shivi wanted to sleep with me, so here we are in my room. She fell asleep the moment her body came in contact with the mattress.

On the other hand my conversation with flashed in my mind. I looked at his contact that he had saved in my phone.

The way he speaks, looks at me and all the other things about him makes my soul shiver out of fear.

But when he reassured me that he wouldn't harm me I could see pure honesty in his eyes. I don't know but I kind of actually believe that he would not hurt me.
