RHODES STEPPED OUT OF THE ROOM WHERE TONY WAS BEING TREATED, the tension etched into his face softening ever so slightly when he saw Pepper and Lexi close by. “Bruce gave him a sedative,” he informed them, his voice gravelly from fatigue. “He’s going to be out for the rest of the day.”

A collective sigh rippled through the room. Everyone turned towards Rhodes, nodding in grim understanding. Tony was in a bad way, and the severity of it was weighing heavily on them all.

Carol Danvers, standing near the entrance, broke the silence with a harsh edge in her voice. “You guys take care of him. I’ll bring him a Xorrian elixir when I get back,” she declared. Without waiting for a response, she turned sharply on her heel, her expression steely, and strode towards the exit.

“Where are you going?” someone shouted after her, a mix of confusion and concern colouring their voice.

“To kill Thanos,” Carol shot back, not missing a beat. Her voice was like iron, laced with confidence that toed the line of arrogance.

Aanya’s eyes narrowed, her body tensing as she watched Carol's retreating figure. She leaned against a desk, folding her arms tightly across her chest. Her gaze flickered briefly towards Natasha and Steve, who exchanged a look that was both knowing and wary.

“Hey—” Natasha’s voice cut through the tension, sharp and authoritative. “You know, we usually work as a team here... and, between you and me, morale's a little fragile right now.”

Carol paused, turning back to face the group. Her expression was unreadable, but there was a challenge in her eyes that didn’t sit well with any of them.

Aanya inclined her head slightly toward Natasha, a silent gesture of agreement, before glancing at Rhodes, whose expression was a complex mix of frustration and weariness.

“We get it,” Steve interjected, his tone level and diplomatic, as always. “Up there might be more your territory, but this is our fight too.”

Aanya’s eyes settled on Steve. His calm, steadfast demeanour had always been a source of strength for the team—a quiet yet commanding presence that balanced out the chaos.

Carol's eyes narrowed slightly, but she didn’t back down. “Do you even know where he is?” Rhodes demanded, his patience thinning with every word.

“I know people who might,” Carol replied, her tone cool and unaffected by his irritation.

“Don't bother,” came a voice from the corner, a cold, almost detached voice. All eyes turned to Nebula. “I can tell you where Thanos is.”

The room seemed to freeze, everyone holding their breath. Nebula had been on the inside—she knew things the rest of them didn’t. And now, she was going to share that knowledge.

She began to explain, her voice flat and devoid of any real emotion. “To the Garden,” she stated, her eyes fixed on the holographic display flickering before her.
