The Winter Festival was just two weeks away, and the excitement at Seongnam High School was palpable. Students hurried through the halls, balancing notebooks and festive decorations as they prepared for the big event. In the midst of the chaos, Lee Heeseung and Kim Soojin were deep into the final stages of their project
In the school’s art room, Soojin was carefully painting the final details of their winter landscape mural. The room was filled with the scent of paint and the soft hum of holiday music playing in the background. Heeseung, perched on a stool nearby, was reviewing his latest batch of photographs on his camera
“Hey, Heeseung, could you pass me the silver paint?” Soojin asked, her brush moving deftly across the canvas
Heeseung reached for the paint and handed it to her. “Sure. How’s it coming along?”
Soojin’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “It’s coming together really well. I’m adding some final touches to the details, and then we’ll be ready to start assembling the installation.”
Heeseung nodded, admiring her work. “It looks amazing. I think people are going to love it.”
As Soojin continued her work, Heeseung’s phone buzzed with a new message. He glanced at the screen and saw a text from Jungwon, his friend
“Hey, are you still working on that festival project? Can’t wait to see it!”
Heeseung typed a quick reply and put his phone away. He turned his attention back to Soojin, who was now adding small, intricate snowflakes to the mural
“Do you think we should add anything else to the installation?” Heeseung asked, his curiosity evident
Soojin thought for a moment, her brush pausing. “I think we’ve covered most of it. Maybe we could add some lights to enhance the overall effect. What do you think?”
Heeseung’s face lit up with approval. “Lights would be a great idea. They’ll add a magical touch, especially with the photos and artwork.”
The two spent the next few hours discussing and planning the placement of the lights. As they worked, their conversation flowed easily, punctuated by laughter and shared ideas. It was clear that their collaboration had become more than just a project; it was a genuine partnership

Later that week, they began setting up the installation in the school’s main hall. The space was transformed into a winter wonderland, with Soojin’s mural as the centerpiece and Heeseung’s photographs displayed around it. The soft glow of the lights added a warm ambiance to the scene
As they worked on the setup, Soojin looked around with satisfaction. “I can’t believe how well it’s coming together. This is going to be so much fun!”
Heeseung smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment. “Yeah, it’s turning out better than I imagined.”

The day of the festival arrived, and the school was buzzing with activity. Students and teachers alike admired the various projects and performances, with the main hall becoming a popular attraction. Heeseung and Soojin stood back and watched as people interacted with their installation, taking photos and writing wishes on paper snowflakes to hang on the tree
Among the crowd, Heeseung spotted Jungwon, Ni-ki, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, and Sunoo admiring the installation. He waved them over with a grin
“Hey, guys!” Heeseung called out. “What do you think of the project?”
Jungwon gave a thumbs up. “It’s incredible! You two did an amazing job.”
Ni-ki and Jay nodded in agreement. “Yeah, it looks like something out of a fairy tale.”
Soojin beamed at the compliments. “Thank you! We’re really happy with how it turned out.”

As the evening progressed, Heeseung and Soojin took a moment to enjoy the festivities. They grabbed hot chocolate and wandered through the crowd, taking in the lively atmosphere
“This has been incredible,” Soojin said, her breath misting in the cold air. “Thank you for making this such a great experience.”
Heeseung looked at her, his gaze warm. “I should be thanking you. Your creativity really brought this project to life.”
As they chatted and enjoyed the festival, Heeseung couldn’t help but feel that their connection had deepened. The project had been a success, but more importantly, it had brought them closer together, revealing layers of their personalities that were both surprising and endearing
The snow continued to fall gently outside, adding to the enchanting atmosphere of the evening. Heeseung and Soojin savored the moment, knowing that this winter festival was one they would remember for a long time
