Ethan whooped when we entered my small apartment, "Dude that was awesome!" he chanted as Elise was less subtle about her happiness. Her green eyes peered at me, "Are you okay, Olive?" she asked as I flopped on my couch.
"Honestly? No clue," I sighed as I rubbed my shoulder where the annoying mark was as she looked up at my ceiling fan.
"So what's the plan?"
"The plan? The plan went out the window when I got this stupid mark on me,"
She glanced at me, "Well you have to have a plan, I don't think they're going to accept that as an answer." She pointed out as I stared out the window. The blue sky was almost mocking me as if to say, Freedom? Not for long bitch, as I groaned and rolled back onto my stomach.
My phone was buzzing, probably random people who had forgotten about me but now see me on the news and think they can use some kind of loose acquaintanceship as a step up in the world.
No thanks.
"I have a question, we already have the Eight Princesses from the Eight Kingdoms. Astoria is walled off from the world so are you expected to stay and rule over Astoria?"
"Gods if I know," I sighed as Elise looked at me with her big green eyes filled with worry as I pulled up the sleeves on my sweatshirt.
Ethan poked his head up from where he was busy raiding my refrigerator, sandwich fixing already threatening to pile over from his arms. He dumped it all on my counter and began making himself some food as he pointed the butter knife at me that had peanut butter on it.
"You know, if you go to Astoria, you wouldn't be bound by the laws and rules of Eldora." He said, mentioning the Fourth Kingdom where we currently reside. Even though Eldora was a beautiful kingdom, spanning from the beach to the snowy mountains, it was overcrowded and expensive to live here. The Princess and three Princes who currently rule over Eldora have made it known that in order to live here, there is now a special permit that must be required. Some backlash had occurred but nothing too bad as we had an earthquake that "accidentally" made a radio tower fall and squash a TV station that was questioning their decision.
(It had suddenly been all butterflies and rainbows since then.)
I shrugged my shoulders, "I don't mind the laws of Eldora, it's nice to be able to relax and know that the Princes and Princess actually give a damn instead of in Freyan." I replied, mentioning the Second Kingdom.
No one really knows why that kingdom has been slowly descending into chaos. All the news is nowadays is how Freyan has slowly risen up in criminal activity and the Princes and Princess are nowhere to be seen.
"Maybe you'll be able to figure out what's actually going on in Freyan since they have just closed their borders,"
Elise chimed in as a clattering knife hit my countertop, spraying mustard everywhere, as I turned to her.
"What?"
"Yea,"
She turned on the TV as I watched as a pretty news reporter stood outside the now closed gates as the guards at the border were turning people away. There were shouts to protest as people were cut off from their families if they were in different cars. A couple guards were dragging away a couple civilians who were doing their best to fight them as the blonde spoke into her microphone she was holding.
"That's right Jeff, under the command of Prince Harold, the borders are closed. Now there has been no comment yet from Prince Zachary or Princess Lianne but sources tell us that the Princess has not been seen in three months. Rumors are flying, Jeff, flying saying anywhere from she's sick to missing to dead. Again, no comment from the royal palace about these rumors only that the borders have been closed until farther notice."
