**Nick Fury's POV**

---

After a day later, Nick Fury had seen some serious shit in his time, but nothing irked him more than playing politics with a bunch of self-serving council members who had their own agendas and got scared of bombing around the world, Ritsuka only destroy the hydra bases but they got so scared and ordering Shield like pizza delivery to find the people who is behind this bombing incident.

Cowards, Fury never liked people like them to have Government power. Hydra had embedded itself deep within SHIELD, and now it seemed they were meddling with forces beyond their understanding—again. He had already made it clear to Maria Hill and Phil Coulson: trust no one, not even the person sitting next to you in the damn cafeteria.

After all, when you're surrounded by snakes, it's best to keep your cards close to your chest.

Fury adjusted his eye patch as he sat behind his desk, Hill standing at attention beside him while Coulson was at Tony house, playing the long game. They had all returned to the grind as if nothing was wrong, but that was the act. Hydra couldn't know that he was onto them—not yet.

"So," Fury said, breaking the silence in the room, "we've got a problem."

Hill nodded, her expression as steely as ever. "We intercepted a report from NASA. They've identified some kind of cosmic cloud approaching Earth's atmosphere. The council ordered a space team to analyze it without running it by us first."

Fury felt his blood pressure spike. "Damn Hydra. They're trying to get their hands on whatever that cloud is. If they think they can use it to make more super soldiers, they're dumber than I thought."

Hill continued, her voice low and calm. "They convinced the council to launch the project by playing up the fear of mutants and the latest Attack on world wide. How shameless to use hydra bases destruction as mutants terrorists attack. Same old Hydra tricks."

Fury leaned back in his chair, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "They want another Fantastic Four incident, but on their terms this time. Only difference is, they want to turn it into a weapon."

Hill's phone buzzed with an incoming message. She glanced at it, then looked up at Fury. "Council's just ordered to gave results on all experiments of Tesseract. It's seems they are insistent to get more power. We need a reason to stop this, something that Hydra won't see through."

Fury didn't hesitate. He already thought a idea."Lets go with this. The Tesseract might react to this cosmic cloud. Could cause a chain reaction—who knows what that would do. Get me Reed Richards."

Hill's eyebrows raised slightly, but she didn't question it. She knew Fury had his ways of getting what he needed, and if he needed Reed Richards, she'd make it happen.

Within minutes, Fury was on a secure line with Reed. He could almost hear the man's brain working through the phone as he explained the situation.

"Reed, I need details on this cosmic cloud. What are we dealing with?"

Richards' voice was clipped and impatient. "How the hell did you get this number?"

Fury smirked, though there was no humor in it. "I'm Nick Fury. Now talk."

Reed sighed but complied. "It's not like the cloud that gave us our powers. This one… it's different. Dangerous. If I were you, I'd tell your people to stay the hell away from it."

Fury nodded, more to himself than to Reed. "That's all I needed to hear. Thanks, Reed. You've been very helpful."

"Wait—" Reed began, but Fury had already cut the line. He turned to Hill. "That's our excuse. The Tesseract and the cloud might react to each other. Shut down all experiments."
