When we arrived at the place, it was near the pavilion in the garden. From afar, we could see the sunshade curtains fluttering in the wind. There was a person sitting upright in the pavilion, apparently drinking tea.

The palace servant who led the way was not in a position to go in, so he just passed the message inside.

After a while, someone inside replied, "His Royal Highness the Crown Prince invites Miss Wen."

Wen Ning's heart tightened, and she gently pinched the handkerchief in her sleeve, asking Qingyue to wait here.

She came today for three reasons: first, to return the handkerchief, second, to express her gratitude, and third... there were some other things.

She was very surprised that she could meet the prince so smoothly, but she was more nervous because she couldn't figure out Xiao Yunci's attitude. She could only try her best.

Things won't get any worse.

There is a long corridor on the water leading to the pavilion, with shimmering water all the way. Whenever someone walks on the corridor, the fish in the water jump and dance happily, as if waiting to be fed.

Wen Ning tried hard to calm herself down, walked all the way to the pavilion in the water, and bowed deeply to him outside the gauze curtain.

"Your servant Wen Ning greets His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. May His Royal Highness live a thousand years."

"No need to be polite, come in." The moment he opened his mouth it was like the sound of heavy pearls colliding. Xiao Yunci's voice was calm, and one could not tell whether he was happy or angry.

Wen Ning stood up and opened the curtain.

The wind started to blow and she looked up accidentally.

Xiao Yunci was wiping his fingers with a handkerchief. There seemed to be some dark red flowers on the handkerchief, which burned the eyes.

Wen Ning accidentally looked directly into his eyes which seemed inexplicably cold. She felt as if his murderous intent had not yet subsided, and there was an inexplicable coldness about him.

Wen Ning only felt that the spring light in the pavilion and the pool water seemed to be instantly coated with a layer of light silver, and the surrounding sunlight seemed to have lost its color and original warmth.

She was startled and quickly lowered her eyes, standing cautiously in front of him, not daring to look at him again.

At this moment, the wind outside suddenly stopped, and Wen Ning smelled a... bloody smell at the tip of her nose.

She was startled at once, and after realizing what he was wiping on the handkerchief, her fingers holding the four-clawed golden python silk trembled slightly, and she looked to the side unconsciously, and sure enough, she saw some residue on the ground nearby...it looked like blood.

He was probably drinking more than just tea just now... Wen Ning tried hard to stay calm.

"Sit down." Xiao Yunci spoke again and threw the handkerchief casually on the table.

"Your servant will just stand..." Wen Ning didn't dare to sit down in front of him. She would rather stand a few feet away from him and talk to him.

Xiao Yunci didn't force it, but he didn't say anything else either.

The pavilion was quiet and windless. Wen Ning was about to break out in a cold sweat. She felt that this stalemate was not a solution, so she bit the bullet and broke the silence, "I came here today to thank His Royal Highness the Crown Prince."
