Queen Crimson usually didn't like meeting with the leaders of the Bloodmoon pack or the Obsidian Hearts, but this was a meeting of utmost importance. She shifted in her throne as the doors opened and the familiar men walked in.
Grenryr Bloodmoon and Sebastian Avalon were two of the most powerful people in the realm. But the feud against their people was strong. She observed that they stood on opposite sides of the rug that bisected the room. She didn't do anything about it, but merely welcomed them into her home.
"I was told this was a matter of life or death," Grenryr grumbled. His blue eyes flashed with annoyance as he looked over at Sebastian. The werewolf glared over at the vampire who paid him no attention.
"It is for many," Crimson replied. "There has been an attack on the humans."
Sebastian frowned. "There are many attacks on the humans. Why are we getting involved?"
"Because it's something a Mystic created."
Both Grenryr and Sebastian frowned at that. Crimson waved her hand and the lights dimmed in the room. She stepped off her throne as a platform rose in the middle of the floor. Sebastian and Grenryr stepped to the side as Crimson approached the platform.
On the table-like structure was a map of the nearest human town they watched. TI was something they worked together to make sure was safe. Little patches of black were now forming on the map. Sebastian sucked in a breath. "You are right."
It was all Crimson could do not to give him the 'no duh' stare. Grenryr frowned as he looked at the map. "I have heard no reports about this."
"Nor have I," Sebastian murmured. "What is it?"
Crimson shook her head. "That I have no clue. I noticed it one night as I was checking in. I do not have answers nor do I have any idea of what could be causing this. This is the biggest attack I have seen in history."
Grenryr's eyes narrowed. "And you think it's one of our kind?"
"There are many who are considered Mystic," Crimson reminded him. "Our treaties say we are not to attack each other or the humans, but there are many who have not signed such treaties."
"And many who tend to ignore it," Sebastian grumbled.
"This is a danger to humans and Mystic," Grenryr agreed. "Whatever this is could expose us. We've been hidden for centuries."
Crimson nodded, glad that they were seeing the danger that she did. Sebastian looked at her, his red eyes curious. "What do you propose to do about this?"
Crimson sighed. "We cannot investigate ourselves. We have our people to keep control of. I suggest we each send one of the people that we trust can solve this problem with little to no issues. Find out whatever this is, get rid of it, and then come back."
Grenryr folded his arms, nodding. "This could work. It has been a while since we've sent any of us to the humans."
"We can do it," Sebastian said, staring at the map.
Crimson let out a sigh of relief. She was sure that there was going to be more resistance to her plan.
"I know someone they can stay with," Crimson said. "So they have a place within the humans."
Grenrryr and Sebastian gave her dubious looks. "Is this your exiled friend?"
Crimson ignored the looks as she nodded. "I won't deny that he's been our greatest asset. He's a good person to go to when I need to know what's going on in the human realm."
Sebastian exhaled. "Alright. When do we send them?"
"As soon as we can," Grenryr answered for Crimson. He gave her an apologetic look, but she merely smiled at him. She looked at the map, watching as another spot went dark. "We need to get this problem dealt with as soon as possible."
