After debating for minutes whether I'd ever see Aurelia again. I got to the conference room a bit late. Taking a deep breath, before opening the door.
"And as the head of marketing department, I recommend a more efficient sales funnel to generate traffic."
Looking towards where the voice came from, Aurelia.
A flash of recognition and smile hinted that I wasn't the only pleased by this second encounter.
"Ajax. Take a seat. You're late." my dad said from the head of the conference table. Judging from the way he spoke my guess is he isn't too pleased about my tardiness.
I should be there with him. But instead at sat at the end of the table, mostly cause I wanted to stare at her. That sounds weird and creepy...There she was, a vision beyond words. Her beauty transcended mere description, radiating elegance. Her brown hair was sleekly styled into a bun, perfectly complementing her striking eyes. She wore a baby blue two-piece suit, enhancing her grace.
No wonder she's the head of the marketing department.
"I thought she was just an intern." Someone to my right whispered to someone.
I had to do a double take at Aurelia. An intern..? with that kind of grace and confidence she might as well take my job.
"Miss Aurelia. Correct me if I'm wrong but calling yourself the head of the marketing department is far fetched and rather presumptive." the person from my right said smugly.
"What does that have to do with anything, Nigel?" someone said
I looked at Aurelia, she was glaring at Nigel as if encouraging him to challenge her.
"I'm just saying" Nigel shrugged. "If any one should be head of marketing it should be me"
At that point, my dad sat forward in his seat looking at Nigel with incredulity.
Aurelia raised a finger, signaling everyone in the conference room that she would handle this and no one dare spoke....pure aura.
"Okay Mr Nigel Macamora." She said stalking forward placing her hands on the table. Her eyes never leaving Nigel.
Had this been any other scenario I would jealous.
"It's any and everyone's right to lead and I for one never self nominated myself to be the HOM so tell me if I'm not good enough what insect crawled up your ass to make you think you're any better."
I stifled a laugh. Her eyes darting to me for a second.
"Professionalism." His only answer.
Aurelia nodded, "Very professional of you to interrupt the meeting cause your ego needs pampering."
Something flashed in Nigel's eyes. His ego might need more than pampering..
I couldn't stop smiling.Aurelia proceeded with the meeting and Nigel didn't utter a word throughout.
