The pic on the side is of Harper! She's so cute!
I wake up to an annoying car alarm honking outside. I hear the doorbell rings multiple times, and then the front door slams. I hear loud voices. I open my eyes a crack to peek at my children.
They're still sleeping. I shut my eyes and will sleep to come back.
The bedroom door opens and slams against the wall.
"Wake up, dumbass!" Katie shouts.
Both kids start crying. I sit up.
"Damn Katie, be quiet."
My entire family is with her.
Grumbling, I pick up both kids and bring them to their rooms. They follow me while I change their diapers. I let Harper nurse under my shirt while I get some baby food and feed Nick.
"What are you guys doing here?" I ask. "I have stuff to do."
"Like what?" Dad asks.
"Sit around and mope because Ty is gone another two months?" Gabby asks.
I hesitate.
"Maybe." I mutter, eating a spoonful of banana baby food and then giving some to Nick.
"Well we have direct orders from your very own husband to bring you on a trip to Hawaii."
"Well I'm not going."
"He said if you refuse, we have to call him."
"Katie," I start. "I'm. Not. Going."
She nods slowly and pulls her phone out.
"Okay Google." she says. Her phone digs. "Call Ty."
"Calling Ty." her phone replies. She puts it on speaker. It rings and rings and rings.
"Hello?" Ty asks.
"Hey." Katie says. "Your wife is a stubborn bitch."
I hear him slowly exhale.
"Is she refusing to go?"
"Yes."
He sighs again.
"Put her on the phone." he says.
"Your on speaker and everyone can hear you."
"Megan," Ty starts.
"Ty, I'm not going."
"Megan, you have to go."
"Ty, I really don't."
"Yes you do. I already got the plane tickets. I already booked the hotel. I paid for everyone. Are you really going to let that money go to waste?"
"There is no reason everyone can't go."
"There is no reason you can't go."
"Megan, you are going to sit in the house and be all sad."
"No I'm not!"
"Yes you are. I already got someone to watch Midnight."
"Ty, you wanted to be there for the first time the kids go to the beach. I'm. Not. Going."
"Yes. You. Are." he says. Katie snickers.
"Ty, dammit-"
"Megan." he cuts me off. "Your going."
"Ty, I don't want to!"
"You've been talking about going to Hawaii since we got together in high school.""Yes, with you!" I snap.
